GeForce FX5500 Graphics Card - Problem with TV out on .avi files in Windows Media player

The TV out feature is working but when I try to play an .avi file in Windows Media player or any other video software the window of the player shows up on the TV but the movie only shows up on the computer monitor. The place for the movie on the TV is blank. Why?

Thanks
Brian

Films on usb have no sound

suggest downloading as many Android media players onto the TV from Google playstore and try them all. There will be some AVI files that just don't play on Android you might be able to convert avi to another video format with a file converter program.
Suggest VLC player but it is troublesome on android operating systems.
might work on your laptop or computer for the avi file.

The newest driver available for your graphics card is designed for Windows Vista, but it should work with Windows 7. That does not necessarily mean that it will. I have included a link to download the driver below.

Playing the V3 movie files on media player?

The problem seems to be in the Media Player (or Windows) itself. I have V3 too and have no problems with playing the shot movies. The movies are in a standard AVI format which is usually recognized my Media Player. You may need to re-install all you codecs or even Windows ;-(
