Broken key in dead bolt


If you can take the lock off the door push a small metal piece inside the lock from the back to push out the broken key. If unable to take it off, get an old windshield wiper, remove the stainless steel supports from the wiper (long skinny piece of metalt holding rubber blades in place). Grind or file an angled tooth into the end of one. Insert into lock (tooth down) so it catches on the teeht of ghe broken key, pull rod and key out.

angle cut blades have the cutter head angled at 25-35 degrees for easier insertion into tight spots. Shear cut blades are light normal scissor blades

Need to change headlight switch on dash went bad


Use a pocket screw driver - pull light switch knob out and pull back on metal retainer for knob until it releases . Remove insteument panel bezel around cluster and remove screws that retain the switch assy and rwmove switch and unplug connector- note it may be melted and hard to remove ! Once out push the button on the bottom of switch assy while pulling out rod , remove the the rod . If connector is melted obtain a pigtail connector and cut and solder a new connector in and install switch in reverse order ! Note that useing diaelectric grease in connector to switch helps with conductivity and helps block moisture !

CHANGING HEAD LIGHT


After opening the hood, look at the top of the headlight assy. You will see to short metal rods, one on eace side if the light. You just unclip the rods and lift them out. The headlight assy will pull forward, change the bulb (dont touch the bulb with your hands-use gloves) slide the assy back in till the holes line up. Reinstall the rods and snap them back in. Its about a 15 minute job.

How do you tip the saw table to cut on an angle


Hi, usually there is a wheel or knob at the back side of the saw table , with a gage that will tip the blade for angle cuts

I broke the flex drive shaft but can't remove the head to get out the broken shaft piece. I got the big part of the shaft out from the top. the bump head has been replaced by the kind that you cut 2 pieces...


The flex shaft drive you are referring to is only sold as a assy that I am aware of. You can try www.partstree.com for the replacement shaft assy. you are refering to, however you may find out by the time you buy a new shaft assy you may be money ahead just buying a new trimmer.

The compressor is making a clacking noise and is not pumping air


It doesn't sound like it is the valve assembly - but could be, more like the piston, rod assembly & if it is not pumping air, could be broken piston or maybe the connecting rod is broken and crankshaft is hitting the case,etc as it rotates. If you remove the head, you can see if the piston assy is working correctly, and if you have reed valve they can be changed & new head gasket put on. Unless you have an expensive compressor, if broken internal parts are in compressor, its usually cheaper to just buy a replacement compressor motor. Hope this helps you, Rick

NO I HAVE A LX470 WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN IT TURNS ALL THE WAY OVER WITHOUT MAKING CONTACT.INSIDE THE IGNITION CASING BEHIND THE SWITCH,THE LINKAGE SEEM TO BE BROKEN.How do i repair this problem?


The ignition crank shaft is broken inside the Steering Column Lock Assy. You will need to buy a new assy (cost appr. $202.21) and 2 steering lock bolts (cost appr. $4.96 ea) at a Toyota or Lexus dealer. Call either dealer for best price and availability. To replace you'll need to remove the black snap-on panel below speedometer then remove the screws securing the driver side dash. Behind the dash is a steel plate. Remove that and remove the steering column covers by turning the steering wheel to access the screws. You'll see that the SCLA is secured by 2 break-away bolt (this is an anti-theft feature). Use a dremel tool with cutting disc to make a notch in the screw head to remove with a flathead screwdriver. If this doesn't work your other option is to cut the bolts where the assy bolts together. Remove the broken SCLA and remove the key FOB and install into new SCLA. If your mechanically incline this should take about 2-3 hrs. and save you $300-400 in labor cost.
