I have a Whirlpool dryer with LP gas, 7 1/2 years old. It will fire up once or twice after started then the next time it is supposed to fire it will make a buzzing sound. No heat. It will not produce heat after this until it sits for awhile then the same thing, will fire once or twice then no more. I replaced the ignitor and this did not solve the problem although it did have a consistent firing for about 3 minutes immediately after I replaced the part. then it started buzzing again and would not fire anymore. The propane line doesn't appear to be the problem either since it will work initially. Also the gas water heater in the house works fine.

Dryer stays hot. It will pause on the second load (sometimes the first load) and I have to leave the door open to cool it down. I use to be able to dry multiple loads, now I am lucky to get through one.

Have you tried cleaning your vent system? It sounds as if the 4" vent that connects to the back of your dryer is stopped up. Just scoot the drier out a little to where you can get behind it and you will see the vent hose connected to the dryer. Disconnect it and look through it. Also make sure the inlet of the dryer where you disconnect the hose is free and clear from debris. Hope this helps. Have a good day.

Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load dryer wont get hot ?

Hi

If the dryer is not drying the clothes then you would need to check for the following things-

1. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working.

2. Check for the amp reading at 240 V, it should have reading of 24, 21 and 3 amp (approx.) for 2 lines and neutral respectively.

3. Heating element may have turned or the connection to the element might be loose. Sometimes a shorted circuit element will keep on blowing the fuse or circuit breaker.

4. Motor wiring shorting to ground.

Hope this helps...

Dryer not heating very hot. need to run two cycles to dry

Hi,

Dryer is not drying properly, In order to resolve try following things.
  • Check the exhaust hood outside the house, does it open and close freely, Clean the lint filter and exhaust duct.
  • Do not overload, 1 wash load = 1 dryer load. Sort heavy items from lightweight items.
  • Large, bulky items like blankets or comforters may require repositioning to ensure even drying.
  • Check the washer to be sure it is draining properly to extract water from the load.
  • Clothes load is too small to tumble properly. Add a few towels.
I hope this will solve your problem.

Good luck and have a nice day.

Dryer gets hot but wont dry clothes

Do you know if the dryer vent is free of obstructions?Check outside where the dryer vents outside ,and see if the air is weak or flowing freely. If it is not clogged the air should be pretty strong from the vent outside. If it has blockage it will definitly take longer to dry your clothes.

Dryer does not dry

any number of things actually, lets start with the basics, does it start at all just not dry???with a meter you can troubleshoot most problems right behind unit taking off back panel and checking the thermostats for continuity, the heater can also be checked right there , any one not having good continuity needs to replaced, perhaps after 3 loads it got too hot and overheated a thermo or the heating coil went bad
