Bubbabear64: Oops. Sorry if I interefered by requesting info after yours.

Sarahq993:

I could be wrong, but I think you are connected through a (null modem) serial cable without proper flow control, so the printer fills up with an error condition after 60 labels. If you're usinf this caqble, it would be screwed into a nine pin connector on your PC and would be screwed into a 25 pin connector on the lower part of the back of the printer. If I'm wrong, please let me know and I'll try again.

There are two banks of dip switches on the back of the printer, with a chart showing their meaning (baud, data bits, stop bits, parity). The switches are only read when the printer powers up, so cycle the power if you change them.

The settings on the PC must match these settings.

Right click on the printer name, select "Properties", "Ports", (probably) "Com1", "Configure Port". Set the same baud, data bits, stop bits and parity as the printer, and also turn on Xon/Xoff flow control.

Please let me know if this works, or if I'm wrong.

Zebra LP2844 pulls labels in before printing

Yes, first of all, it is necessary that the labels are pulled backward (other wise you could not print on the upper part of the label). It appears from time to time that it is a problem - generated by the label itself. Try to use a different label (of size and material) to see if the behavior changes ...
Good luck.

Datamax I-4208 not printing allocated amount of labels

Eventually you HAVE to give the printer a break, during inventory times at work, we have to print 50K+ labels, and in order to prevent either serial number skipping or other issues, I print in 250 batches, yes; there is a time gap but it's better than to restart a series of prints because a few numbers were skipped. Try printing 200 and 200 sets to prevent errors or skips.

Zebra 140xiIIIPlus w/ attached cutter, cutter will not cut labels

For the cutter to work it is necessary to instruct the printer to "Use the cutter" This setting is usually accessible in the printer driver. Your label program interacts with the printer driver. Ensure that the cutter option is selected in the printer driver.

Can't print labels

I found out that each time you print from the manual load tray, i.e. letters and labels, once you have the paper in the manual load tray press print and then press the demo button to start the manual feed. I hope this helps.

Will not print on all four lables, and does not print in the same place each time.

for starters you need to calibrate your printer.

Note: If printing in Direct Thermal Mode, default the printer first (4 flashes).

1. Load the labels and ribbon (if used) and close the printer
2. Turn on the printer power.
3. Allow the printer to feed or error out.
4. Press and hold the feed button until the green status LED flashes once, then twice. Release the feed button.
6. The printer will set the media sensor for the label backing being used and then automatically feed until a label is positioned at the printhead.
7. A profile of the media sensor settings (similar to the example in Figure 1) will print. Upon completion, the printer will save the new settings in memory and the printer is ready for normal operation.
8. Press the feed button. One entire blank label will feed. If this does not happen, try defaulting (Hold the FEED button until it flashes 4 times)

Print Width Issue

the issue you are having is DPI related, when data is sent to the printer and rendered it is dot for dot, so a Z4M 203dpi printer has about 800dots on the printhead where your printer has about 1200dots on the printhead. so when your software prints to dot800 thinking it is the edge of the label it is infact at 60%. there sould be an option in the software to configure around this. if not the is an option in the printer to convert DPI setting ie 150>300 or 100>200 and so on. but i don't thing you can make a 300dpi print as 203dpi

best of luck
