Yes you can install additional memory in the unused slots as long as you get the correct memory needed.
I hope this helped.
Good luck and have a great day.
You can upgrade it to 2GB (MAX) if Memory Type: DDR2 PC2-5300, DDR2 (non-ECC) Maximum Memory: 2GB
Slots: 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.
Based on your memory specs below the maximum RAM that you can install in your computer is 1GB
DDR2 SDRAM and you can get 1GB RAM for like $15 -$ 20. 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM is what you need to buy.
Your Memory Specs: Installed Cache Memory: 256.0 KB [close]Installed RAM: 512.0 MB

Here is what I found:
You can upgrade your Acer Aspire 3003WLMi upto a maximum of 2.0 GB, with maximum of 1GB per slot in 2 memory slots. The Acer Aspire 3003WLMi takes the PC2700 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Memory Type. From:http://www.buycomputermemory.com/memory/AcerAspire3003WLMiMemoryRAM.html
To upgrade you will need a SoDimm 2gb DDR II SDRAM, 667 MHz module, on the bottom of the notebook you will need to remove the panel usually secured by 4 screws to gain access to the memory slots, you probably have a 1 and 2 gb modules already so it'll mean removing the 1gb chip and discarding it as you only have 2 memory slots so you can fit the new 2gb module.
Sometimes Laptops will have 1 slot internal and 1 slot on the bottom side thats readily accessible via a removable plate.
You'll be perfectly find with the 1GB internal and adding the 2GB to replace the 1GB stick on the bottom side. Also Windows XP and VISTA 32bit can only address and use about 3.25GB of ram anyway.
Recently Microsoft released a patch that's kind of tricking consumers, People calling and complaining so much to MS and PC manufacturers about not seeing all their ram when they installed 4GB so they Released a fix that shows it as 4GB but still the 32bit OS cant use the extra over 3GB
1 gb is the enough mem for the computer u have, u may check the virus and install fresh virus free windows for getting full performace of your computer.
