If the screen is white then the connector is loose and probably needs to be reseated. This can be done by opening up the phone. But dont open the phone if you can get it replaced under warranty or for cheap through your cellular phone provider. If not and you want to go ahead its a matter of opening up the screen locating the thin film cable and reseatin it inside the white clip on the main board.

thanks,
Nate

Ear sound not working

There are three main reasons for it not to work: Dirty contacts (when an electric contact between the small speaker does not meet the electric circuit that controls and feeds it) in that case you have to clean those parts; Burned speaker ( the only way to fix it is to change it). Or a broken display connective ribbon (it's the ribbon that makes the connection from the phone's main board, to the display board, and the small speaker) the only way to fix that kind of thing is to change the ribbon. These 3 thing are to be solved at a service, rather than by yourself. The fourth reason (which is a secondary reason) is that the speaker is muted, from the phone's menu.. since it's Nokia, you might want to call anyone or answer a call and press the volume + button on the side of the phone or the left arrow key, around the main menu button.

My mobile is nokia 3110classic.suddenly i got a sound problem.i cn't hear sounds outside.but am ble hear them through ear phones.i.e am unable hear songs as wells am not able to hear my ring tone...

The problem is with your "Ringer" (the bigger speaker). If you can hear the sound through your ear piece, then replacing the Ringer/Speaker will definitely fix your problem. I would suggest to get it done from a service center or from a mobile repairing shop.
Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My LG-VX9200 external and internal screens went blank. The phone is otherwise in perfect working order. There is no water damage. I have tried turning it on and off, taking the battery out, etc. but it...

Was there any shock damage that you are aware of? Any other kind of damage or any notable change you remember around the time the failure occurred?

Do you get any sound out of the speakers?

Does the "outside" keyboard function properly?

There's one connector on the main board in the "base" unit (the side with the QWERTY keyboard) and that has a flex-circuit that goes through one of the hinges to the boards in the display unit (the other side, with the two displays and the smaller keyboard.) If it were something simple, like that connector being dislodged, then any or all of the functions of the display unit (speakers, outside keyboard, and both displays) might be affected.

However, that connector is held in place by the case cover on the base unit, so it really shouldn't have any way to just "come out".

Given that, if it were *just* a broken display, I'd advise that it is possible to replace the display module, although if you're trying to do it yourself, I'd recommend having some electronics repair experience. I had an enV3 that was been damaged twice, and both displays were cracked, but it was otherwise fully functional; I was able to restore it by replacing the display module with a $38 unit from eBay. See this thread for a little more detail.

However, I'm confused by your comments "otherwise in perfect working order" but then later: "reception has gone fuzzy...cannot make outgoing calls." If it were truly *just* the displays, (and especially if there was a shock event involved...) I'd say a replacement of the display module *might* do the job. But given there are other issues, I'm not as confident that just replacing the display module has a good probability of solving things.

Cant hear outta phone unless on speaker phone

If the problem is intermittent, and is affecting multiple components we are talking about a damaged ribbon cable. This cable feeds information from the main board to the board in the flip top. if damaged, you may see these symptoms or more; flickering screen, scratching or no sound from earpiece, screen blacks out, and all the symptoms may fluctuate when the phone is opened or shut. The only reason your speaker phone still works is its placement on the device. Here is a link to a public site that ranked it the top google results.

pls rate this post as fixya and good luck!!!!!!

My display outside and inside isnt working for my motorola razr v3

bring it to a technician, and let him know what the new battery and charger did to your normally fine phone. They should be responsible for repairing your phone. No easy fix as described above. Let me know how it works.

Motorola E815 cell phone

This exact issue happened to me: I left my phone off for 2 days (unplugged), turned it back on and the internal speaker started working normally again. The phone worked normally for over a month after this. Yesterday, the earpiece speaker stopped working again after the phone fell out of my pocket. I suspect a loose connection or something similar, but I've had my phone off for the last day and will let you know whether or not it starts working again.
