Question about Belkin N1 Vision Router
I'm trying to connect a new 1TB WD Mybook network drive to my network via the router ports on an N1 Vision Router, but although I can see all the other PC's (3) and access the internet ok, I can't find the Mybook on the network. I also can't get Mionet to run, which from what I have read might not be such a bad thing.
I have connected the drive driect to my pc's ethernet port and manged to access it that way, but only from my machine and I want it availble when my machine is shutdown, ie via the router hub.
Hi! I have an N1 Vision with similar problems. I have done some research and found that we are not alone with this issue! Two solutions are possible: 1) If yours is version 1 (1000) of the machine, Belkin recommends that it be swapped out for version 2, which apparently has firmware/hardware changes that fix this (unverified; it would seem to me that this would require a whole new DHCP approach) and 2) I've found that if you go through the process of unplugging the device for 2 minutes, replugging it and then refreshing the DHCP table, after between 1 and 5 iterations, the device should appear. I'd also advise you to shut down (for troubleshooting) the software firewall in the router (you'll still have the NAT firewall), that might eliminate a problem/conflict somewhere in your network!
Good luck and let me know if this helps!
