Question about Nikon Coolpix L11 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Memory Card Won't Stay In

I work at a school. We use the Nikon Coolpix L11 as our Campus Camera for pictures on campus and we use it to take ID photos. It is well used. I believe we got it in April 2008. It is September '08 now - 5 months of usage and the Memory Card won't stay in.
It clicks and clicks when you press it down, but it won't stay down. As far as I can tell there are no recalls on the L11. Our dean had me test it with a different SD card -- same issue. You can force it down and shut the door. But when you look at the closed door you can see that the card is trying to still force its way up - so this is not a remedy as the door will soon break at some point.
What to do? The picture here was taken with my personal camera of the same make/model. Do I have to tell our Dean to get a new camera? Is there someplace that can repair this issue? IS this a repairable issue?

Yes its repairable since the issue is on a camera that is only 5 months old it still falls under warranty. That is as long as your school didn't by a Grey market or "parallel import" Nikon instead of an official camera. You can contact Nikon by calling 1 800 645 6678 24 hours a day 7 days a week. To have them see about repairing the camera free of charge under the warranty. If they cannot repair it free of charge they will tell you how much it will cost for NIKONUSA to fix it and then you can estimate which is more cost effective for the school.

Thanks,
Nate

Drivers for nikon coolpix camera L11

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.

My Nikon Coolpix L1110 whenever i turn it on with memory card the camera message THIS CARD CANNOT BE USED.. but without the memory it is find and ok.... I put the memory on my laptop and it is working all...

Don't be so quick blaming your camera for everything. :)
Maybe that message means the memory card is either full or nearly full.

When did it start saying that? Did you try another memory card in the camera?

How can i use the coolpix L11 as a web cam?

You can't. The L11 is designed as a camera, storing pictures and videos onto a memory card (or internal memory). It is not designed to feed live pictures and videos to a computer.
