My 3200se will not print a receipt. The paper advances but no print. I've checked the paper, including changing rolls. I've unplugged the machine and plugged it back in to reset it. Also had the machine reprogrammed, but it still will not print. Wht is the problem?

Our Star TSP700II leaves about 1/4 inch of unused paper on the roll when the error light comes on and the printer stops printing. Is there any way we can make an adjustment so that we're not wasting so much paper?
1. check the usb or parallel cord to the PC to see if it is connected proper ly 2. clear all print document on the pc 3. If the "online" light will not come on this may mean that the cord is not completely in the connection socket. 4. check Dip switch for parallel cable ( should be 3 ON, 4 ON, 5 ON) this is for USA settings 5. check paper roll ( if at the end of roll it will shut down if proper paper load is loaded. 6. When temperature at the print head is high printer will go "offline" 7. check the alignment of the ribbon also
we have Star TSP 700II and it is doing the same. not just 4inches but sometimes it adds extra 20-30 inches blank space. I think it was due to incorrect paper size settings.
Why dont you to go printer properties->Device settings and change the Friction size..as well as set Pagecut to Partial.
Also change preferences under Properties, advanced and change papersize to what suits you .
pl let me know what happens soon
If it is now printing blank and was working before the paper roll change then you need to flip the roll over and print on the other side of the paper. This is assuming you have the correct thermal paper roll.
Hi, Sounds very much like the feed rollers are worn out. If you can get to them without too much trouble you can clean them up with regular rubbing alcohol and a rag which will help the paper feed. You might also want to try unpluging the printer and trying to roll the paper feed buttons by hand and seeing if a piece of paper will feed through without catching anywhere. If it does catch somewhere, then you may very well have a small piece of paper jammed in the paper path causing the jam. Good luck.
