I have an electric Estate Dryer made by Whirlpool TEDS840PQO. It has "Timed Dry", "No Heat Fluff" and "Auto Sense Drying" settings. On the Auto Sense Drying it has "Wrinkle Prevent" where the dryer run a few minutes then shuts off and then starts up. This prevents wrinkles. My problem is the dryer only works on the Wrinkle Prevent and not the other settings. I can turn it to Wringle Prevent and it will start by itsel, turn off, start, (goes through normal cycle.) If I put the dryer on the other settings I can hear the timer but when I push the start button the dryer doesn't go. It has heat on the Wrinkle Prevent so I am assuming that is not the problem. We have only run this dryer on Auto Sensor Drying. The only setting that works is wrinkle prevent which is part of the Auto Sensor Drying Cycle and it works if you turn the knob to that setting and then the dryer will run through that cycle. The other cycles do not work. Any help would be appreciated.

Verify that the wrinkle prevent switch is good. If so, the timer is likely the problem. Sometimes the switch contacts inside the timer can be cleaned to restore operation, bit it is a tricky item to disassemble and reassemble.

SOURCE: Whirlpool electric dryer LEQ8611LG1 not drying on sensor dry.

Check your lint trap and the vent. make sure that there are no obstructions in either of them. Then take a look at your timer to since it is not stopping when you tell it too.

SOURCE: My dryer will automaticall start the auto dry

appears that timer is not timing out or shutting off at end of cycle.correct ,the timer itself appears to be the problem.

Electric dryer..have heat on auto heat cycle, but no heat on timed cycle why?

If you have normal heat on Auto cycle, I have seen a few times that these new dryers channel the heat circuit separately through the timer for auto and timed cycle's. This isn't normal but you have a bad timer. But for any other readers this isn't a common problem generally the timer use's the same heat contact for auto and timed cycles, this is the exception.

If it is working ok in timed dry it would have to be something in the auto cycle maybe the sensor or wiring or last resort the timer sounds like the timer might have a bad connection inside the timer. Hope this helps good luck

Timer will not advance even after replacement. What next ?

Hello,

Does the timer advance in timed dry setting or will it not advance no matter where its set??

If it does advance in the timed dry (or air fluff setting) but just does not advavce when dryer is set to autodry setting the problem is going to a poor air flow problem and the lint filter/blower housing should be checked for lint build up also the vent tube should be checked for a blockage

If the timer does not advance at all on any setting ya need to check the wiring of the dryer for a possible burnt wire on the neutral side

The drum on my dryer will turn when I set the timer to any setting, but the timer does not work, nor does it heat up. Any suggestions?

See if the timer advances in the timed dry or the auto dry cycles. If the timer advances in timed dry but not in auto dry, then you could have a wire connection failure in the orange wire from the heating element to the timer.

If the timer will not advance in either type of cycle, then I recommend checking the timer part number that you are using.

I have a Whirlpool Estate dryer Model TGDS840PQ0. During auto sense, the timer will not move. But during a "time dry" session, the timer seemse to work just fine. Any ideas?

in auto the timer will not move if there is no heat, when the heat stops the timer moves, heat comes on timer doesn't move, when it's on auto make sure power is going down to the heating system, next time send model number and if it's gas or electric, good luck

I have a whirlpool dryer model #len 2000pgo and my wash doesnt get dry but dryer gets warm ...not hot like it should. what could be wrong??? its electric

Your venting plays a huge part here.Do you want to be 100% sure about the vent ,ok,for just ONE load remove the vent hose from the dryer keep atleast 3 feet clear for the air to exit dryer. Now select TIMED dry cycle for 60 minutes.Start dryer and make sure your in a heat setting (not air fluff). The normal load should dry in 60 min,If it does than you now you have a block in the venting.
