If your timer works but no heat and you think you may have goten water inside the toaster area.. chances are you've dislodged the heating element itself. If you shorted it out, you would probably take out your circuit breaker or fuse from the receptacle that provides power. If you are relatively handy, UNPLUG it, then look at where the heating element penetrates the oven compartment to see if it looks normal ( meaning that it is passing thru the wall of the oven ok) then check the other side ( you may have to remove a cover) to see if the wires providing power to that element are still attached. To be honest, I do not know this particular brand that well but it does sound like a fundamental problem that should be easily addressed. Good luck..

Two filaments not heating up

We had the same problem. I took off the bottom plate, cleaned the toaster, reseated all of the connectors on the heating plates, timer, and switch, and the toaster started working again. Only one connector was slightly loose (but it was still connected with decent contact). I am not sure what fixed it. If that did not work, my next step was to purchase replacement parts online and swap out the switch, timer, and heating plates (in that order). We have an older model than yours, but I suspect that the parts are similar. The parts all look very easy to replace. These units are intended to be repaired and not replaced.

My 4 slice Dualit toaster stopped working! Repair?

I had an issue where it wouldn't stay down, or heat even if I held it down. No power at all.

Firstly unplug it.

To take it apart, turn it upside down. You have to get the 4 security bolts undone which are underneath (Mine look like they have six holes around them).
Also, you need to unscrew the bobble by hand which you use to push the toast down. You can then pull the cover off, from the back first. The timer dial is connected to the cover, but I didn't disconnect this.

Note: You don't need to undo the bolts inside the toaster. (They only hold the metal base to the plastic base), the 4 torx screws holding the side panel on, or the 4 twisted pieces of metal which hold the toaster internals to the base.

Inside, there are 4 prongs which are pushed together when you push the toast down. On further inspection, I found the main blue power cable had become corroded, and had melted and become disconnected. So simply unscrewed the 2 screws hold this section on,(simply for easier access) and resoldered the blue cable back onto the correct prong.

And now it works again!

The heating elements don't come on.The timer is working as you can hear the clicks but that's about all.

Russell Hobbs RH2T toaster bread won't stay down w/o hold handle

Hi, most new toaster have a selenoid that hold down the handle while toasting then release when done so a spring bring the toast up. Possible problem with the selenoid, the electronic circuit that controls it or the plate that the selenoid holds. When you lower the handle you close the contacts of the AC line inside the toaster so if the handle is raised there is no power.

Timer

Unplug toaster and lay toaster on its back. Gently pry the timer knob up and off the front of the toaster and spray the shaft several times with WD-40. Replace the timer knob and manually operate the timer repeatedly, thereby working the WD-40 down the timer shaft. Test the timer to see if it now operates freely. If not, repeat the above steps. Set toaster upright and plug in. This worked for me. If it doesn't work on your toaster, then have it repaired professionally.
