Question about Karcher 2500 PSI Pressure Washer

This is FixyAaaaaaAAAAAAaaa

Hey Az,
I'd like you to consider a few things. Let you in on some of the history and such .

I've only been here since June, getting on four months. If you ever checked my profile out, you found I have a few Premiums solutions with only one paying. As a rule, I don't really pursue them. There is also only the single chat. That's it for standard income. The currency FixYa provides that I do chase are ratings. I've been hovering between 90% - 91%. They are important to me.

The way you answered some of your solutions, you can expect good ratings too.

Although there is competition, I don't consider this a game in that I'm not playing against anyone (but myself I guess). Helping people, the need to be needed, to be of service are all factors in what drives me.

Some of the Experts you are interacting with have been here for years. Call them the Core Experts, the Super Guru's, whatever. They have seen things change and seen them stay the same.

Consider the centuries of experience they represent. When they try to give you advice, they are telling you they see potential, they are showing respect. They would otherwise ignore your posts. Listen to what they say, let it sink in. Even their jokes have underlying meaning. read between the lines.

They have a wealth of information available for the asking. They are the veterans here. Don't talk down to them as if they were the new guys.

Everyone (mostly) is trying to improve the site. Fixya is finally doing something about it. But there are thousands of Experts signed up here. Lauren is not only the community manager, she is the liason between us and Fixya. It is inappropriate to go around her to contact Fixya. It undermines her and pisses other people off. It reduces your credibility in the eyes of your peers.

To those who have made ignoring us an art form, no matter how well you write, you are just another annoying nickname.

Sure you stand out in the crowd here. But you need to be in the crowd to notice. They aren't.

If you want to be part of the Fixya development team, apply for a job there.

Your comments in the lounge fluctuate between insightfully helpful and constructive to outright destructive rants. They seem to be cycling. I feel you have the best intentions, but your rants negate the positive contributions you make.

I've tried to give you hints to guide you out of the funky side, some subtle, others, not so much. You've obviously got talent and brains. But somethings up and it needs to be handled. I know it, you know it. I'd really like to see the great things you will accomplish. So handle it. Be all you can be.

After all:

THIS IS FIXYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Mike

I know you're one of the television technicians , I respect that , I know if you cought me givin out BS answers on television repair questions you'd bust me , or at least repramand me like only a television repair technician could. so I've been watching my back when it comes to you , I didn't know you approved of my answers , that means alot because I know you are watching me , yes yes yes I knew you were watching me , I saw your avitar and knew you weren't playing games , I knew you were serious about what you do , I fully appreciate the heads up , lauren has givin me another heads up about not posting links in the lounge for the others , because this IS a game where we all have to compete a little against the other players , and thats means doesn't matter about their rank , if they BS it's BS and it's that simple, I don't go over to somebodies link and post without tellin the others what I did, I try to help the others , but some of them have problems beyond my control and I have to do what I have to in order to stop them from abusing and harrassing instead of working together fairly to acheive rank.

I'm watching my back a little more , the top guru ginko stopped by to talk to me , he and I hit it off good , he's not like some who just use you , I couldn't believe the top guru stopped to talk to me,

and he liked me , so thats not to bad if you ask me , and to hear you say you like my work is one for my record book as well.

and yes I'm going to be lettin what you said sink in deep, you know we tv technicians are like that.

    your friend Az.

Mike , I spent 15 years started in 1995 in yahoo chat computer lobby 1 gettin kicked around a bit , I'm battle ready. I can tell you that FixYa! is alot less brutal on me than that experience.

in the computers lobby:1 of yahoo chat things are real time , if you get a wrong answer you get booted.

I'm thinkin at this point I could walk away a winner at FixYa! , that would be a good move for me,
because walking away a winner is better than not winning at all.

I have posted over 500 solutions in less than 2 weeks , I could stomp the holy livin **** out of these gurus if I wanted, but whats important to me is knowing that someone out there like you knows I'm alive and knows I exist , I do hope you noticed I kept you out of the bad stuff , I guess we tv technicians have a different creedo than the others.

we are a special thing , I want you to know you are really something to me because I was younger I'm 38 , I was younger working in the television shops learning the biz.

I want better for you than what happened to me , most of the people that trained me are no longer living mike , thats not a good thing in the biz ....

what I see as a future for you is computers , I see you doing things in computer beyond television repair , they make tuners for computers now , all these televisions being sold are prety much obsolete.

dont' get me wrong I trust my CRT over some piece of **** LCD screen or Plasma
but I bet you already know that.

I just wanted to stop by again and tell you those things so you'll know more ...

your fellow technician Az.

Hey there
this design seems ok but then they put a plactic adapter on the end...fail. on the inside of that plastic adapter you should be able to use a hex socket to remove from you extension wand. I suspect that the threading is 3/8" or possibly 1/4". You should then be able to match that up at a local pressure washer dealership. It will be 1/4" MPT x 3/4" FGH or 3/8" MPT x 3/4" FGH. Im guessing by looking at a picture of your wand only so still take this adapter out and check to verify the size. If you are having trouble finding the adapter then check here.

Will only start with the choke on and runs for only a few seconds and then it stalls. After waiting for a few seconds it will restart only to do the same thing.

you problem is the carb it needs to be cleaned or you may have to rebuild it or you could have water in your gas to check pull fuel line loose from carb and drain some into a clear glass jar you can see the water settle at the bottom .

HOW DO I DRAIN THE WATER FROM MY HP WASHER FOR WINTER

What I've always done is just disconnect the water hose then start the washer and pull the trigger till no more water comes out. You don't want to run it very long at all after there's no more water though, you can quickly overheat the pump if it is ran without a water supply for too long. I've been doing this for the past 3 years with one of my washers and haven't had any problems with the pump.

My Bosch pressure washer has power and the water is flowing through the machine, but no high pressure?

It would take a small book to explain how those things work but I'll try to cut it down some. Most have three pistons in the bottom of the pump that are operated by a cam that looks like a wavy pancake. As the waves pass over the spring loaded pumps, which is actually a plunger, it presses it down and pumps. Usually each pump has three plungers. If you tackel it yourself be careful when you disamble it and remember how it came apart, especially the "O" rings. That is more than likely where you're loosing pressure, its by - passing your plungers. Replace the "O" rings and fabric washers if it has any and make sure the cam is not worn or warped. There's one other thing that keeps the pump from working and I hope this is whats wrong with yours. The cam I spoke of is attached to the crankshaft with a little pin like the fly wheel on a push mower. If that has shered off you can just replace it and go on. It a pretty good job and I can't say enough about how important it is to watch where things are as you disamble it. also look fragments of "O" rings in the bottom of the plunger assembly. Go onto the internet and see if you can find a rebuild kit for it. I've never looked for one but there is probably somebody out there that makes rebuild kits for those rigs. Hope this helps, this is from my own experience with about a dozen of them, all worked but one and we couldn't get the motor started on it. dhgill1949

Karcher 360M pressure washer pulsating problem when idleing

Hello,

unfortunately these little units have this problem commonly, 9 times out of 10 it will be the plastic head or the plastic valve block on the unit will be cracked and leaking slightly... it builds up pressure then leaks out and tries to build up the pressure again and this just reoccurs over and over...

you can get this repaired but is normally about half the cost of a new unit, if the pressure is still okay i would probably recommend just keep using it until it proper dies...

If you do get this fixed, we have studied into this and believe the main cause of heads cracking is warm water say if your inlet hose is in the sun for a period of time this can cause the water to become quite hot or if the unit sits and water trapped inside the head assy freezes can also cause this. Hope this helps Kind Regards Brad

I have the same problem...it has been sitting for a while

I have had the same problem, but with mine, all i have to do is start it a few times and let it die, and that warms the motor up and solves that problem. But also, if you look at the carb. when it dies, youll see that the throttle plate is on a spring and when the engine starts, because of suction, it imediatly opens the throttle all the way open, so with mine, I drilled a hole in the throttle plate and made it into a more controlable throttle so this wouldnt happen on cold starts.

It looks like gas getting into the crankcase oil,

I would completely empty the oil out, add the proper amount and see if the problem re-occurs. It is pretty hard for gas to get into the oil reservoir unless someone did it for you.
