I cant switch on my nec versa s3200 lappy

I cant switch my lappy on. i thought it was battery and adapter faulty. i've changed the adapter but still using the same battery. the adapter is 3.16A, but the one that i've used is 3.42A. could that be the problem?

And there is no response from the hard drive when i switched it on. The LCD didnt light up, and no response at all.

This problem started aound 1 month ago and i've decided to use my alternative lappy.

Laptop adapters are very specific and need to be exactly the same as the manufactures so if the one you switched to is not the same voltage and amp and poliarity you gain the chance of causing permanent damage to your lappy.

I've got a Dell Studio 1735 that started to tell me the battery was on the way out after 18 months (maybe a bit more). One day the battery stopped charging and when it ran down completely it...

There is a short circuit on your motherboard. This is why the power adapter switched off (thermal cutout) and resets after you remove the adapter from the wall power outlet.
You need a new motherboard.

hi

i am not certain, you are referring to the NEC notebook. if so, try booting up with the AC adapter only

what model and type is the computer ?

if you are in North America, i can recommend you to a battery store near you.

Follow instructions:

1) make sure computer is off. remove the battery
2) power up the computer with AC adapter attached only
3) if it does boot up, shut it down.
4) re install the battery and boot it up without AC adapter

if the notebook does not boot up, then yes, you need a new battery for it

if the batter is 2 years old or more, you need new battery

send me 4 thumbs up please.

Hi my dell inspiron 1520 not starting when power button is switched on..the power light blinks and goes off..and the system doesnt start. I had shown the laptop ito dell service center and they have...

Hello.

The most common reasons are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

But, if you paid for the Dell service, Dell needs to fix the problem. Sounds like they replaced the motherboard with another faulty one.

Hope this helps.

HI. I ve a NEC versa pro VA12J. When i start my laptop it starts with beep sound and shows BIOS screen with an error message: 0251: system CMOS checksum bad- default configration used. During this period,...

This "0251" error indicates that the CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor; a memory chip that holds data the computer needs each time it starts, such as the current time and the BIOS [Basic Input/Output System]) has become corrupted or damaged, typically because of one of these three reasons: A BIOS update has gone awry, a recently installed program incorrectly modified the BIOS, or the computer battery is running out of power.

If you recently upgraded the BIOS, the first thing you should do is edit the BIOS settings. The BIOS developer can help you access the BIOS Setup utility and configure the BIOS accordingly. Likewise, if you recently installed a program that may have modified the BIOS, contact the software developer for assistance in reconfiguring the BIOS for the new program.
If you did neither of these things, the culprit is probably a faltering battery. You can probably replace the battery on your own, but the process varies widely depending on the type and age of the computer. We suggest consulting the documentation that came with your computer or contact the computer manufacturer to determine the type of battery involved, where to purchase a new one, and how to replace it. You can also access the BIOS Setup utility and write down the BIOS settings to reconfigure the BIOS correctly after installing the replacement battery. Once the new battery is in place, you will have to reconfigure the BIOS and reset the system time, but the error message shouldn't appear again.

hope this helps

Need nec versa e 6000 motherboard faulty . where i can buy the motherboard?

it is not worth it to purchase a new motherboard for around 200$ when you can buy a brand new computer for just a little bit more.

You can have your files moved from the old hard drive to the new laptop by a professional or you can do it yourself if you aren't a complete dummy with computers.

To do it yourself you would need to first remove the old hard drive from the old computer ( NEC ) and then buy a external hard drive case for it that fits to it - there are 2 sizes, 2.5" and 3.5", probably 2.5" hard drive and then there are 2 types of connectors, IDE and SATA. SATA has a flat connector, and IDE has around 40 metal pins sticking out of it.

buy the appropriate USB caseing for it and then connect it to your new computer, you can transfer your files from it to the computer, after you have done so, you can keep the old hard drive as a external hard drive, for backups for example.

How to install saound card for NEC versa E6200 for

Hi,

First off that notebook is not Windows 7 capable. Here are the WIndows 7 requirements:
  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver.
But, if you want to add a PCMCIA Sound Card you can do that. Just google PCMCIA Sound Card and you'll find a ton that are available.
I might suggest a new laptop.

Thanks Mark

Nec VERSA M500 Laptop - Main power defects on mobo

You are going to think this is a fairy tale, just like I did, when I heard of these. It is a "polarized fuse". From the best I can grasp the component, it is a cross between a diode and a fuse. Because you have a device that has potential DC power source originating in two different locations (battery and PSU), a PF is often deployed to protect each circuit separately from overload/shorting. With a PF, the laptop can theoretically survive a overload from either source while both are utilized simultaneously. For instance, the PSU might pop its PF, and if the battery is charged, the laptop can still continue. And it is really critical to replace it with the same polarized fuse, with the same exact rating. That will NOT be easy. They are rare, most semiconductor suppliers do not carry any or carry few variations. The manufacturer usually custom orders these. There is a possible alternative solution. But to be sure, I need to see a photo of the section of MB with this PF and its peripheral related components. I have a Versa, but it is a 2006 model. No PF. Take a clear shot and post it here. Then if I recognize it, I will get back to you.
