Zanussi WJD 1257S with only power lights showing after I had replaced a broken pump. Once I plugged back in and switched on only the power and door lights function and I can not select any function. After switching off, the door still unlocks after 3-4min. Have I messed with the PBC by laying it down to fix? Has the lack of water removal from pump messed with controls?

SOURCE: Reluctant to start

problem is almost certainly the door interlock. to replace, remove the plastic clip holding the door boot onto the cabinet and peel it back adjacent to the door lock. the door lock is just held in by two screws accessible at the front of the cabinet. not an expensive part. easy job - takes about 10 min

Most possible reasons that the door switch or timer unit is defective. The dishwasher should heat the water to about 55 C as the heating cycle starts. In these cycle, the dishwasher pauses after has filled with water and wait for the water to reach the temperature. If the water isn't being heated (because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. if you think that a user manual may help you more, it can be downloaded ($8.95) at url: http://www.download-manual.com/shop/Zanussi-FLE1416W-User-Manual-pr-8261.html

SOURCE: Zanussi washing machine door seal removal

This is quite tricky, first take off the retaining ring on the front door port, remove the seal from this rim. The back of the seal is held by a spring band. the best way to remove it is to get a good grip on the seal at the top then lift and pull (thats the easy bit), to put the new one on i always lubricate the recess on the seal with washing-up liquid and feed the seal on from the bottom with one hand whilst following it around with the other hand to stop it coming off. Once it is fully on it can then be rotated easily into the correct position. Getting the spring back on will require an extra pair of hands for obvious reasons.

Good luck with it and keep the swear box handy lol.

Thank you for using fixya

Zanussi dryer tc7114W door shuts blows the fuse

Behind the door locking mechanism is a switch, it sounds like from the force a wire might be touching the inside of the machine chassis. Gain access to the back of this switch and check there are not loose cables or cables touching metal.
You should be able to access it by removing the top of the machine, remove the 3 screws and tap the front of the lid with the but of you hand to knock it back and remove it. With a torch look down the inside from of the machine to idenfiy anything loose. Alternativly remove the back of the machine and see of you can see it that way, as that model does have quite a large back access panel.

Keep your screws safe ;)

WJD 1257 works fine but After 1&1/2hrs knocks of the main power fuse even if only on standby. I remove plug, put fuse switch back and all is well until the next time. Have tried the other socket but no...

Try to see the capacitor of your the machine. The capacitor looks like a circle tube of plastic ware where the 4 wires are connected to it. it is only for the washing machine with the dryer. If it's only a washing machine the, the capacitor is only a single or only two wires are only connected. To test if that is the common problem, try to connect another functioning capacitor.

Dryer will not turn on, but is plugged in. Light inside will not illuminate, either. What do I do?

HI, check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power with a voltmeter or by plugging something else in.

2. Door switch / Door switch actuator lever
The dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

4. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Zanussi WJD1257W Washer/Dryer

if computer is broken that is your timer dial not worth fixing sometimes as much as a new washer but it could be your interlock you can test this by closing door set machine to a programme hit the front of your washer to the right of the door as you look at it if not take lid of make sure power is off look down inside the front of your machine were your door seal is attached to the outer drum were u hit the washer on the inside will be your interlock switch replace that before paying out for a timer m8 more than likely that is the problem
