Hi, I have bought the Sweex CR005V2 cardreader and pluged it into the usb5-6 (7-pin) connection on my motherboard. But windows (XP home) doesn't see it at all. I tried, changing the jumper for the power settings form '+5V' to '+5VSB (Default)' (see manual (http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socka/KM400/a7v8x-mx%20se/e1493_a7v8x-mx_se.pdf) from motherboard for more info page 23). The only change is that windows now see a SCSIadapter (never had that before). Could you help me please?
I have the same problem with the same memory card reader. Operating system in my case is Vista Ultimate and isn't detecting the Sweex card reader. Motherboard ASRock 4Core1600Twins-P35.
download the latest software from the manufacturer's website, and install the software *BEFORE* plugging the usb device into the computer. the installer will tell you when to plug the usb device in. once it tells you, windows will automatically detect the device and install the proper software drivers if you are patient!
