I dont know the user name or passwork for my linksys wrt54G router how do i find them

On the back of your router is a 'reset' button. Use a toothpick or a pen to press it for approximately 5 seconds. Once this is done you can log in with the default user and password.

  • Open your web browser
  • Browse to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
  • The default username is: (blank)
  • The default password is: admin
Only type in the password, and don't enter anything in the username field. In case this doesn't work try the following credentials:

  • Default username: admin
  • Default password: admin

How to change password for linksys E1200

If you are able to log in then go to administration and you will find an area there to change the password. If you are unable to log in because you forgot the password that you set you will have to do a factory reset by pressing the reset button for more then 10 seconds. This resets the router back to default user/password of admin/admin or admin/password

I forgot my securiy code phone?

is it phone password or router password. do you mean wep or wpa passwork? you can access these security key by accessing your GUI in you router. just open your internet browser and type in in the url 192.168.1.1 for "linksys" router or 192.168.0.1 for other router. then go wireless and wireless security. you can find there if your are using wep or wpa access key.
In case that you dont know the password of your router. reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router. On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

Forgot login password

Overview If you have forgotten your Linksys password, you have a couple of options. You can try to use the default settings to log into the router settings and change your password, or you can simply reset the router and set it up again. Either way, you will need to create a new password to use in the future. Read on to learn what to do about a lost Linksys router password.
Try the Default You can try to log in to the Linksys setup page and create a new router password using the default user name and password. This will only work if you did not change the default password when you originally set up your router.
f0636833200caec5b4ef0a64a206141c19578565_small.jpg
Open a web browser window, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar. Do not include any prefixes, such as http:// or www. Press Enter or click Go. A dialog box will open prompting you for a user name and password. Try leaving both fields blank and clicking OK. If this does not give you access, type admin into the User Name box and Password into the Password box. Click OK again. If you succeed, you can configure your router settings again and create a new password. Read the first article in this series, Configuring a Linksys Router Settings, to learn how to do so.
Reset the Router
If you are unable to log in to the Linksys router setup page using the default user name and password, you do have another option to solve your lost Linksys router password problem, which is to reset your router. 3d1cb9ca10deccfc3b6a854cda8b29a7cd240d6d_small.jpg

Look for a small Reset button on the back, front or the bottom of your Linksys router. The location of the button depends on the router model, so look carefully. As a precaution the buttons are small and inconspicuous, so that users do not accidentally reset their routers.
Once you have located the Reset button, press and hold it for at least ten seconds. You may need to use something with a small point, such as the end of a paperclip or a pencil tip to depress the button. Release the button and wait for the router to start back up. This will restore the router to its initial factory settings as it was when you first set it up. You will need to configure it again and choose a new password. Refer to the first article in this series for instructions on how to do so.

Need to log on but my password does not seem to work. Is thewre a generic passwork for this router

The default entries for your router are
Username: admin
Password: password

If you changed these settings earlier, then these credentials won't work. In that case you will have to reset your router (look at the rear panel to find the reset switch) and use the default settings to log in.
Be aware that by resetting you are erasing all changes you have made (WEP key, DSL settings, etc.), but it's the only way if you forgot your password.

If you have any more questions, come back and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

How to change my security password for my computer because I forgot my password and I own a linksys router wrt54g THANKS FOR THE INFO

This answer is not specific to your router but, most wireless router have a 'reset' button on the back. You need to have physical access to the router. It cannot be done remotely. You will probably have to insert a pin or paperclip through a small hole in the back to reset it. You will lose all settings. Then you can log into the router, using the default settings, and set a new password.
