Our Celestial ddvb8800HD set top box worked well for months, now won't work at all, it just keeps going into standby mode. We have lost the installation instructions and we are not able to get it up and going.

Problem solved by looking past the inseparable remote control and indexing the channel button on the unit. Fiddling with remotes can be a real waste of time.

I lost all the tv channels on channel master cm-7000 model and do not understand how to get them back?

First look at the indicator lamp on the front left side.
If it is:
off - check the power cord is plugged into a working outlet.
Amber - the unit is in standby, press the on button (left most), it should turn green
Green - the unit is in operate mode, check the antenna and cable connection.
Red - when power is applied, it will be red for up to 30 seconds. If it remains red, the unit is defective. This is a common problem due to several capacitors on the power supply and logic board that have gone bad. The unit is repairable by replacing these capacitors.

Sky + box keeps going into standby mode (turning its self off) and programs dont record or cant be cleared off the planner

Reset your Sky Box. That fixes 98% of all problems, disconnect from power reset, button at rear usually. Power back up, this may just fix your problem. Otherwise, get the Sky unit replaced.

Dti16300-16 programme guide not updating

The unit can only update itself when it is powered on, if its left on standby i cannot connect to the server for updates because communication is severed, if you want the unit to update during the night then you have to leave the unit on.

Normally, there are 2 ways to hook these devices up. One is the component cable that has 3 colors, red white and yellow. these color codes match an aux. input on the TV (or vid1 or vid2) You need to change the TV input to whichever you used by the remote or maybe under Ch2 (4,3,2,vid2, vid1, aux,111,110,etc) The other way is to use the round 4-5 pin S-video instead of the yellow jack, that is self explanetory. The 3rd way and this depends on your TV and receiver is to use the HDMI, composite or DVI cable connection. These are only for Hi def players and will be either a large multi-pinned computer type plug, 5 colored/lead "octopus" cable, or a smaller D shaped high density cable with the row of contacts inside the plug. In any case you need to tell the TV which input you are using.
Once you get the TV to show a picture of the receiver, then you autoprogram the receiver with the remote under setup or other menu.
