Question about Dryers

Ariston washer/dryer. Dryer not working

Hi there I have an Ariston A1600WD washer/dryer. And ever since I first got it, it has made a really loud (imbalanced) sound when its on full spin. However now (2 years later) the dryer isnt working. It turns and makes all the right noises, just that there is no heat at all. Do you think the two are related? I'd happily get an engineer out if there is something I cant fix myself, but essentially I'd like to try and sort it of my own accord (with your help and wisdom!) Many thanks and kind regards to you. The dryer has just suddenly stopped giving of heat. It still washes fine and goes through the motions of drying just without the heat.

I had the same problem, took the top of the washing machine off (2 screws top, rear) and found an orange wire had broke. Repaired it with a spade connector. Works perfect now.

Assuming everything else is working, it sounds like your heating element is burned out. Two years is a little short for the typical life span but not unthinkable.

Here's a photo of the part for your unit at a site that sells them. If you pull the back panel off and trace the wires, you should be able to find this part easily. It is designed to be replaced.

Ariston a1600wd wont turn on

Before you change fuses, do you have an internal fuse board or RCD system in your home? Sometimes, an individual RCD can trip out, locking off sockets. Some sockets are individually set up for up and downstairs in a house, or different rooms. If you have a board or RCDs, check them out :)

There is a filter of sorts in the pump inlet pipe, its a big item catcher coins etc, but thats got nothing to do with the module error wich is a pricey item at £120! I've had one go already and in the last year, a inlet valve plus a control pcb panel in fact its almost a NEW machine! i'll never buy another hotpoint or ariston again. The machine is two yrs old!

Ariston washer/dryer. Dryer not working

probably 2 separate faults no heat is possibly either open circuit on the elements which are at the top of the machine, or open circuit thermal cut outs (up to 3 of) located also at the top of the machine near to where the element is and along the flow of the hot air, you can check these with a normal electrical multi-meter, unplug machine before testing as for the vibration on spin, just look for any loose suspension legs, and or twisted drum alignment, very difficult to work on due to lack of access but sometimes just re-tightening the legs up etc, could cure the vibration hope i have helped you to start somewhere take care to note in detail any wires or parts removed or in case of accidental removal
