Question about Dryers

Ariston washer/dryer. Dryer not working

Hi there I have an Ariston A1600WD washer/dryer. And ever since I first got it, it has made a really loud (imbalanced) sound when its on full spin. However now (2 years later) the dryer isnt working. It turns and makes all the right noises, just that there is no heat at all. Do you think the two are related? I'd happily get an engineer out if there is something I cant fix myself, but essentially I'd like to try and sort it of my own accord (with your help and wisdom!) Many thanks and kind regards to you. The dryer has just suddenly stopped giving of heat. It still washes fine and goes through the motions of drying just without the heat.

I had the same problem, took the top of the washing machine off (2 screws top, rear) and found an orange wire had broke. Repaired it with a spade connector. Works perfect now.

Assuming everything else is working, it sounds like your heating element is burned out. Two years is a little short for the typical life span but not unthinkable.

Here's a photo of the part for your unit at a site that sells them. If you pull the back panel off and trace the wires, you should be able to find this part easily. It is designed to be replaced.

Ariston AS66VXNA dryer - everything works but no heat- looking for a schematic to check out and troubleshoot - where can I get detailed schematic?

You can find a manual for your model here>>>>>>>>> http://laundry.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/ariston/asl70c_1.html Let me ad that you may have just one side of the 240 volt circuit breaker or fuse set tripped or blown allowing all of the electronic functions, but not allowing the full 240 volts across the heating element. One way is to check the fuse box first and then proceed to measure voltage across the heating element after turning on the dryer. Please use caution while doing this. Ariston a1600wd washer/dryer No matter what setting i put my dryer on, it doesn't dry anything. it spins around as though it is going through the cycle but nothing, but when it is finished the washing...

When the filter gets blocked the dryer doesn't work.
The filter is located behind the small panel to the rear of the machine.
Remove the three screws and then the plastic panel.

The filter is located in the large black rubber gater tube which is held on by an adjustable clip.

Remove the clip by unscrewing the philips head screw and pull the tube down to remove. The filter has what appears to be a table tennis ball inside. Apparently this helps with self cleaning!

Remove the filter, clean and replace. The filter needs a little fiddling to get to sit right. Replace the gater tube and re-fit and tightend clip. Check for tightness and set the machine away and check for leaks etc. This job takes about 20 minutes.

If this doesn't solve the problem you will need to focus your attention to the heater element or thermastat located on the top of the machine behind a cast plate help on with torque screws.

Hope this helps.
