My dishwasher completed a wash today but when I turned it on to do a second wash it will not come on. There is no problem with the power supply as the on light is green.

Try unplugging the power cord or switching off the circuit breaker that feeds power to it for a few minutes and see if that clears the control logic after reapplying power.

How to troubleshoot a Dishwasher when problems developed

A dishwasher can make life easier—it reduces the hassle of hand-washing and keep your kitchen countertops and sink free from the clutter of dirty dishes—but if your dishwasher stops working properly, don’t panic. There are several things you can do to get it working properly once more.

Following are the preliminary steps to take before tackling common dishwasher problems. After you've looked over these points, be sure to follow the various links to dealing with specific dishwasher repairs.
1) Unplug the appliance from its electrical receptacle or shut off the circuit that powers it.
2) Turn off the water supply valve that routes to the dishwasher beneath the sink before disconnecting or working on the dishwasher’s water supply.
3) Don’t work inside the dishwasher immediately following a wash cycle; various parts, especially the electric dryer element at the bottom, may be too hot to handle .
Once you’ve completed these preliminary steps, you’re ready to tackle the problem at hand.

Try pressing the "Start/Reset" pad hold it for 5 seconds to reset the dishwasher and wait 2 minutes. If the problem persists, reset (reboot) the dishwasher by turning off power to the unit at the house circuit breaker/fuse box for 30 seconds. Or if its pluged in below the sink like mine unplug and plug back in. Restore power and the dishwasher should function normally.

The Drying light flashes and the unit beeps about once per second. At the same time the unit acts like it is washing (sounds of water washing insiide. The bottom is oompletely full of water.

so its beeping and flashing once per second correct this beeping and flashing is an error code that your unit is giving blinking lights or beeping sounds may indicate a problem with the dishwasher caused by power surges. To correct the problem, try pressing the "Start/Reset" pad to reset the dishwasher. If the problem persists, reset (reboot) the control by turning off the circuit breaker supplying the dishwasher for 30 seconds. Turn the circuit breaker back on and the dishwasher should function normally if you still have the flashing and beeping message me back Im going through the error code book as I type this if it still persists after you turned off the power then back on message me back with the number of beeps within 60 seconds as well as the number of flashing lights for instance if it does it every second or once every 5 seconds also if you have any further questions message me back them as well and please remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situaitons Thanks Rick

Item: Whirlpool Ultra Dishwasher Age: 3 yrs Problem: Not enough water to effectively wash the dishes. State: When the dishwasher is started, the fill valve opens as normal. Only about 1/2 the amount of...

Larry,
The float is generally for overflow conditions and will interrupt power to the fill valve solenoid.
If you are not filling completely in the time allowed by the timer, it is most likely a flow restriction in the water supply. Barring other obvious restrictions, the fill valve has filter screens on the inlet side of the fill valve, which is generally the cause of your symptoms. Be careful if you attempt to clean the screens, as the fill valves are very sensitive to debris, and can become stuck open if sediment gets past the screen. I usually replace the fill valve to avoid future problems.
Hope this helps.

Dishwasher starts for seconds but, then shuts off

Check that water supply is available and that water inlet valve is operational. Filling unit is usually the first step of any wash program and dishwasher is shutting down because float valve is not actuated.
