Free hp drivers for speaker

Hi there,
how are these speakers connected to the computer? Via USB or via the 3.5mm port?
Usually you don't need drivers for speakers but what you need is the driver for your soundcard.

Hope this helps!

I converted my windows from XP to Windows 7, and now it says that my laptopd doesn't have an output audio installed.

Its an older laptop not supported by hp for windows 7, so you'll need to hunt for the driver or use a usb based head phone or speakers to output sound. You may want to look in a the vista/windows 7 audio drivers section of http://driverpacks.net/ .

Instal in XP

Hello, This external hard drive does not need a driver, even in XP. If you're using a desktop, don't connect it to the usb ports in front of your CPU case, instead, connect the usb at the back USB ports, if this doesn't work, try using a shorter USB cable and connect it again at the back.

I have HP speakers that need to be installed to my computer. There is no disk. What should I do?

What windows OS are you running? XP, Vista, 7?
Typically you can add speakers with little to no effort. You will need to check the plugs on the speakers. Is it USB? or are they small 3.5mm jacks?
Usually speakers use 3.5mm jack and depending on the type of speakers they will have either 1 connector or 6 (for 5.1 surround sound)
Once you determine what connectors your speakers have, make sure you have the matching connectors on the back of the PC. These are usually colour coded Green (for a single 2.1 connection) or multiple colours for 5.1. USB is the small rectangular connector that is short and wide.
If you have the 3.5mm connectors, just plug them in to the back of your computer and plug the speakers in to a power source and they should begin working without drivers.
If you have the USB connection you will need to determine the model of the speakers and find the driver online: http://www8.hp.com/ca/en/support-drivers.html Install the driver and then plug in the USB connection and windows should automatically install.
You could also try to let Windows update find drivers online for you.
Hope this helps.

XP laptop no longer recognizes any USB speakers, and internal speakers dont work. USB speakers do not appear in the audio controls. the only 'device' listed under Sound Playback is SoundMax Digital Audio,...

Nothing wrong with your USB ports. MagicJack has changed your audio and driver settings so it can use the sound system for phone calls. The changes exist whether the Jack device in plugged in or not.
You can confirm the problem by uninstalling MagicJack and reinstalling your sound drivers. Should fix the problem.
You'll probably need to contact the maker of the MagicJack device for a workaround. Might be something specific to your laptop/operating system.

Connected to laptop with vista via USB connection to speakers - NO sound

A letter from Altec: E-mail from Altec Lansing explaining how to use the ACS 495 speakers with Windows XP and Vista: "These speakers require no special drivers or software to work properly. At the current time we do not have AMS software or an USB audio device driver compatible with Windows XP or Vista. There are no plans at this time to develop this software. Your speakers will work with Windows XP & Vista. Just make sure you use the audio cable from the back of the subwoofer to the audio or sound out port of your sound card. Do not use the USB cable. Sound does not come through the USB port The USB cable just allows you to use the AMS software. This software gives you some control over some of the sound features. The same functionality of the AMS software can be gotten by using the buttons on the speakers and the volume control software that comes with your Windows system. If you double click the speaker icon from the system tray, that will open this software up. With the USB connector removed or the computer turned off, STEREO or PRO LOGIC modes can be selected by depressing and holding the center control down for approximately three seconds. The mode selected will be indicated by the color of the LED on the front right speaker. When the light glows yellow it is in the STEREO mode. When the light is green it is in the PRO LOGIC mode."

How can I get my Harman Kardon Soundsticks 1 to work on my PC?

The USB version of the soundsticks was specifically designed for the mac and they worked just by plugging them in and then telling the system to use them instead of the analogue outputs. Unless someone has produced drivers for Windows XP for these speakers I think that you will probably not be able to use them.
