Re: Tv is sparking and making noise?
The part with teh large red wire out of the top is as Azkeyz indicates the "flyback" transformer. This is the part that produces the high voltages required for the picture tube to function. As indicated, that wire conducts extremely high voltage that can injure anyone in contact with it. If there is sparking at the transformer end, then the part is beginning to fail. The sparking is due to a connection getting loose. The high voltage "jumps" the gap creating the sparking. This will only get worse. If the sparking is at the picture tube end, this can be fixed cheaply by carefully turning the rubber cap back and forth. Under that cap is a metal clip that can sometimes get a little dirt on it preventing good contact. That too will cause a spark.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL when attempting to work within the set. Even with the set unplugged, there is still a large amount of high voltage present. Think of the picture tube as a very large battery. THe high voltage remains for a very long time.

We'rehappy to help you with programming your DISH Network remote to your Prima TV.Start by pressing and holding the TV button located on the top of your remoteuntil all mode button back lights come on, and then release. Use the numberbuttons to enter the codes for your Prima TV; here are some of the codes wecurrently have for it: 674, 653, 673, 912, and 842. Press the pound (#) button. To check that the code works try several different functions on the remote tomake sure it will properly operate the TV. Remember that some codes may not becompatible with your TV. If this is the case, try the other codes listed foryour Prima TV until you find one that is compatible with it.

You took the TV out of the mode for either satellite or cable and it need to be reset . check the user manual for the setting. You didn't give model number for the unit/ I may be able to get you the instruction for you to reprogram the tv.
Hi my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network. I see you are looking for the remote code toyour Prima TV, we do not have the three digit code at this time but we have away to program the remote to the TV through a Power Scan. I will send you thelink that will help with these steps, http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/power-scan-instructions.
Magic smoke GONE! Seriously, the main power supply has failed, and requires service. You are probably well past the warranty period, but check with the TV's service center - that information should be in the documents that came with the TV.
Try pressing the TV button on the Prima remote to make it work on the TV. It should work on the Prima Tv without new codes. Codes would be needed for your cable box.
Consider calling Prima at 866-447-7462 for the codes. They should have a website for the codes or email you the codes for free.
