The only thing I can think would cause this would be bandwidth allocation. If your download(s) is/are using your bandwidth up then you will not be able to utilize it until the downloading is finished done. Do you have any way of limiting the download rate of your updates/podcasts or having them perform in background? You might also try to schedule your downloading to a time when you don't use your computer (get updates at some time between 3-5am or whenever you're always asleep).

How upgrade firmwere for my ZONET(ZSR1134)

With an Ethernet cable, connect your computer to the router,
i.e., do not try to upgrade via "wireless".

Download the updated firmware from the manufacturer's web-site.

Access the "built-in" web-server "inside" the router,
and click to find the web-page that allows you to update the firmware.

Click the "Browse" button on that page to find the file on your computer that you downloaded. Click "Update".

D-link setup problem

The light internet must be solid, but the light of "activity" will be blinking according of your activity
If you can not get connection, check your settings.

When entering the IP address of the D-Link modem (192.168.1.1 for example), you are not connecting to a website on the Internet or have to be connected to the Internet. The device has the utility built-in to a ROM chip in the device itself.

Note: Your computer must be on the same IP subnet to connect to the web-based utility.

Here are a a few steps to try if you are unable to access the web-based configuration utility:

1. Make sure you have an updated Java-enabled web browser.
We recommend the following:
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
• Netscape 8 or higher
• Mozilla 1.7.1 (5.0) or higher
• Opera 8.5 or higher
• Safari 1. or higher (with Java 1.3.1 or higher)
• Camino 0.8.4 or higher
• Firefox 1.5 or higher

2. Verify physical connectivity by checking for solid link lights on the device. If you do not get a solid link light, try using a different cable or connect to a different port on the device if possible. If the computer is turned off, the link light may not be on.

3. Disable any internet security software running on the computer. Software firewalls such as Zone Alarm, Black Ice, Sygate, Norton Personal Firewall, and Windows® XP firewall may block access to the configuration pages.

Note: Check the help files included with your firewall software for more information on disabling or configuring it.

4. Configure your Internet settings using the following steps:

Step 1 Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel.

Step 2 Double-click the Network and Internet Connections Icon.

Step 3 Click on the Internet Options Icon.

Step 4 From the Security tab, click the Default Level button to restore the settings to their defaults.

Step 5 Click the Connection tab and set the dial-up option to Never Dial a Connection.

Step 6 Click the LAN Settings button. Make sure nothing is checked. Click OK.

Step 7 Go to the Advanced tab and click the Restore Defaults button to restore these settings to their defaults. Click OK.

Step 8 Close your web browser (if open) and open it.

Step 9 Access the web management. Open your web browser and enter the IP address of your D-Link modem in the address bar. This should open the login page for your the web management.

Step 10 If you still cannot access the configuration, unplug the power to the modem for 10 seconds and plug back in. Wait about 30 seconds and try accessing the configuration. If you have multiple computers, try connecting using a different computer.

When connected to internet via D link 524 router, laptop won't allow opening some web pages

Can you surf to websites via your wireless connection without a problem? Is it only web-based email that's giving you problems? It may be caused by a firewall that is blocking traffic on your wireless connection but not on your LAN-card. Are you using a security suite (McAfee, Norton, etc)? You might want to check those settings too. Finally, make sure that the IP-settings of your wireless card are the same of those of your LAN-card. Can you connect to your router via wireless, http://192.168.1.1? Check the various settings there too. G'luck.

Upgrading firmware

Downloading the Firmware Step 1: Before downloading the firmware, make sure that your computer has an active Internet connection. If your computer is plugged directly into the router and cannot get online, disconnect your router and plug your computer directly into your cable or DSL modem. Step 2: Once you are able to get online, click here to go to the WRT54G Version 5 Download page. Step 3: Click Download to download the firmware file. Approx. file size (Zip file): 1.39 MB If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Internet Explorer, you may see a 'Pop-up blocked' message in your browser Information Bar. If so, click the bar and select Temporarily Allow Pop-ups. Then, click the Download link again. Step 4: Click Save in the File Download dialog box that appears. Step 5: In the Save As dialog box, choose a location for the file (like the Desktop) and click Save. The wrt54gv5_fw_1[1].00.6_US_code.zip file will then be downloaded. When the download is complete, click Close if prompted. Step 6: Double-click on the wrt54gv5_fw_1[1].00.6_US_code.zip file and extract its contents to a single folder (or to the Desktop). NOTE: You will need to use a utility to open and extract files from the ZIP file archive. Popular software to use is WinZip®. For information on how to download WinZip®, visit the following website: http://www.winzip.com. You can also use the built-in unzipping features of Windows XP to unzip the contents from the archive. Step 2: Make sure that the router's power is plugged in. Step 3: Open Internet Explorer. Type http://192.168.1.1 into the Address Bar and press [Enter]. Step 4: You will be prompted to enter a username and a password. Leave the username field blank, and enter admin for the password. Then, press [Enter] or click OK. Step 7: On the Firmware Upgrade page, click Browse. Browse to the location where the firmware files were extracted, and select the wrt54gv5_fw_1.00.6_US_code file. When the file is selected, click Open. Step 8: Click the Upgrade button on the Firmware Upgrade page to start the upgrade.
