Question about Panasonic Televison & Video

Odd problem with Panasonic 27" CT-27SF25W

White screen with a black horizontal line in the center. This only shows up after the channel is selected and the TV 'settles' into the channel, but the menu shows up perfect, and the problem is remised during the menu screen. I suspect one of the main board IC's is failing, but hell if I know which one. Thanks for your time, HVF

You might want to replace the vertical output IC. This IC has a heatsink on it. I'm not an expert on this, but that's what I can think of. I don't know where it's located, but you can get the numbers on the ICs and google search them. I do that.

Is it still under warranty?
If not I would find a good TV Service Shop and have them check out the power supply as there more than likely a 'Capacitor' much like a battery that is going bad.

Horizontal lines center of Panasonic HDTV

Usually there is a capacitor in the pump up circuit and/or an IC in the vertical circuit that causes this problem. Contact Panasonic at: http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/vServiceLocator?storeId=15001 To find a servicer in your area. This will give you an idea of the cost of repair. Hope this helps.
