There are a number of methods that will allow you to make the connection. Many computers have incorporated composite (RCA) or S-Video (TV-Out) output that will either mirror or, better yet, extend your desktop beyond the monitor. For desktop systems, there are numerous AGP video cards available that offer a variety of video outputs. For example, ATI's Radeon X1950 PRO video card includes composite, s-video, and component video connections for analog signals. Of course, it all depends on what inputs your television can accept. If it has multiple input ports, remember that there is a hierarchy in terms of signal quality among the three typical types of connections, which, from lowest to highest, is composite, S-Video, then component video. So opt for the highest quality connection supported by both devices. Many older or more basic televisions may only have a coaxial cable connection. In this case, there are video cards with coax outputs and scan converters that will pass the signal through a coaxial cable directly to your television. Oh, and remember that you'll also need to connect your sound card's LINE-OUT connector to the TV for sound.
The tricky part may be finding the right cables to go from the computer to the TV, since there are several types of RCA (1 or multi-port) and S-Video (4-pin and 7-pin) connectors. One product I found, the Pro S-Video to 3 RCA cable allows you to connect your desktop or laptop computer's S-Video to your TV. These adapters are compatible with both S-video 4-pin and 7-pin receptacles and also connect your PC's stereo audio output to the TV.
But don't run out and buy any special video cards or cables yet... There are certain limitations of using older CRT televisions as computer displays that can easily render the advantages of size and affordability almost completely negligible. Perhaps the greatest constraint is the relatively low resolution of standard, tube-based televisions. Because of their design to accept NTSC (North American), PAL (European), or SECAM signals, good old-fashioned analog television sets generally cannot display resolutions greater than 640x480. That was barely adequate for a 14-inch monitor ten years ago, so just imagine how it might look on a 32-inch TV screen. Have you ever tried to read those fuzzy disclaimers at the end of a TV commercial? Viewing your computer's video signal through a CRT television will not yield the detail and clarity that you would normally expect, although for games and video playback it can produce acceptable results.

I have been using TV as computer screen but it started saying run auto scan. took it off computer and it still has same message and I can't get remote to work

The input mode of your TV some how changed from your Monitor, (VGA, or HDMI, or PC in) to tuner, and it is trying to stations.
If you have an "INPUT" button on the TV set push it until your monitor comes back. If there is no INPUT or SOURCE button on the TV itself, you need to get a working remote.

Instruction on how to set up as computer monitor

Usually CRT tv sets don't have the necessary connections required to connect to a computer.
Do you have a separate video card for your computer (desktop type)? If so you may have an RCA connector on there that you can hook up to the RCA Video input to the TV. If you don't you may need to purchase a video card with this built in

How do i change the input

The 27" TV uses the same instructions as the 20", and I found the manual for you at the link below. Answering your question directly, here is the section of the instructions about changing input:
-----
Changing the TV's Input Normally, your TV displays the signal coming through the antenna terminal. However, if you've connected another component to your TV(such as a VCR & DVD) using the Video/Audio input, you will want to be able to view the signal from the component. To do this, you will need to switch from the ' TV ' input to the 'AV1-AV3, CVI' Input, as follows. 1 With the TV on, press the MENU button twice, then " Set-Up " menu will appear. 2 Use the WCHV buttons to select " Input ". 3 Press the CVOLB buttons to change the input source from ' TV ' to 'AV1, AV2, AV3, CVI'. 4 Wait 20 seconds, or press DISPLAY button or MENU button to return to normal TV viewing. * CVI means the Component Video Input (Y/ PB/ PR) from the DVD player etc.* Users can also select these input modes with the TV/AV button or the INPUT button on theremote controller. * On the AV1 mode , if you connect the S-VHS jack to your TV, "AV1" is changed to "S-VIDEO".

Our tv will not recognize the cable cord attached to it. We hooked another tv to it. The cord is not bad. We attempted to search for channels and it says there is no cable attached. Is there a button that...

check in the menu under picture or video settings and see if there is options for the inputs. some tv's allow you to disable inputs for faster switching. if you only have a dvd player but your tv allows for 8 input devices, you're always having to press the button many times to go from tv mode, to dvd, and back. disabling inputs allows you to switch between only what you use.
press menu and navigate to the video settings. if you see "inputs" or "labels", select it and you can probably activate and deactivate inputs. my guess is the one you are trying to connect to isn't "on".
searching internet i really only found places that charge for the manual...here it's $10

Hello,
First of all, make sure all components are powered up and plugged in. Next, check that your tv is set to the correct input by pressing tv/video or input button on either the front of your tv or at your remote. Scroll through the inputs by continuously pressing the input button until the see the roku video displayed on your tv.
Good Luck

Can this be used as a monitor for a computer?

Hello
Sorry. The answer is you can't. Computers output comes as VGA [Video Graphic Arrey],or AGP [Advanced Graphic Protocol]; and it is not directly compactable with TV inputs. The computer outputs, Red_Green_blue and Horizontal and Vertical synchronisation signals seperatly through one VGA cable which goes into the monitor and there they gets processed and you see the image on computer monitor. Monitors are equipped with such circuits to process the same, whereas in the TVs there are not. Your TV is equiped with S-video connection and not have a VGA input connection.
You must buy a VGA to RGB converter for this purpose. It can be bought from the electronic market, and will have instructions and remote control of its own to control it. You must give the computers signal [VGA], to the input of that converter, with a [VGA to VGA] cable and from which the converter outputs R_G_B [Red_Green_Blue] along with an other output contains synchronisation signal, as described earlier, and will have directions in its manual where should it to be connected. Different converters have different confugurations for this connection, and it will be described in its manual. Ok.

How to set inputs in Mitsubishi CS-35405

My cs-35405, only has input 1 and input 2, but has ant. A and ant.B So there are really 4 inputs. The input button on my remote, gives choice of these 4. Any vcr, dvd, cable or cable box, and satellite would be hooked seperatly on these. But to record TV, satellite or cable would need to go to recorder first and then toTV.
