My fabric softener dispenser is filled with water after a wash cycle

Take out the soap drawer and clean the fabric softner compartment. This happens when there is residues left. And it gets clogged up.

I'd pour in white vinegar and let it soak. Flush with hot water. You'll probably have to repeat. Once it's clear, you might consider a detergent that is residue-free (Charlie's Soap is an example) so that you don't need fabric softener.

1991 Model 82980120 Serial 53848720 Model 110 Fabric softner dispenser is super yucky. When I have been able to get it off the agitator, I can't open to empty and clean it. I shake it to get the liquid...

I found that it's better to just replace the dispenser. You can try to pry it open near the bottom lip, but with it being "yucky" it may give you fits. Here is a link to the part if you are interested.

Clothes are left with a residue on them. I use

Do you use a liquid fabric softner also ? Marks are usually left on clothes from undisolved fabric softner . Try using dryer sheets instead of washer softner .

"fabric softner staining the clothes"

make sure you delute it with water. yes fabric softner will start to stain your clothes if you use too much of it. I would recomend stop useing it for a while. so you can clean the washer out. There is a product called Washer magic or Affresh that cleans out residues built up in your washer. or you can just run several loads of HOT water and bleach to clean it out. The hot water will melt the left over fabric softner in your washer. Fabric softner is kind of like hardend bacon fat thats what it looks like in your washer after time and if you do not clean your washer it builds up and builds up.
Also i do recomend alternating liquid detergent and powdered detergent. The reason why is powder leaves a residue that liquid takes away and vise versa. try this and let me know how it goes

Dispenser tray removal

hi, nikoltheis! i'm not sure if we have exactly the same model, but it should be pretty close. here's what my user's manual says:

Detergent and fabric softner may build up in the dispenser drawer. Residue should be removed once or twice a month

- Remove the drawer by first sliding the safety latch to the right, then pulling the drawer out until it stops.

- Reach back into the left rear corner or the drawer cavity and press down firmly on the lock tab (left rear portion of the drawer). Pull out the drawer.

- Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softner compartments.

- Rinse the drawer and inserts with hot tap water to remove traces of accumulated powders and liquids. Large amounts of fabric softner residue may indicate improper dilution or that more frequent cleaning is required.

- To clean the drawer opening (the empty area left behind when you remove the drawer) use a small brush to clean the recess. Remove all the residue from the upper and lower parts of the recess. (The picture shows this being done with a tooth brush.)

- Replace the insert pressing "X" to lock it in place. Return the dispenser drawer.

Good luck!

Fabric softner is building up in dispenser

Same deal - I have to soak up all the residual water in the softener dispenser between washes. (The detergent and bleach compartments are fine).

Fabric softner

Remove the dispenser tray. Inspect the area just above the fabric softener portion of the dispenser. There should be a series of holes where water feeds into the tray during the rinse cycle. Sometimes these holes become clogged with fabric softener residue. If the holes are clogged, water will never dispense the fabric softener out and it will stay in the tray. If you take some cotton swabs and meticulously clean all the holes out, I bet your problem will go away. Let me know if this was helpful to you.
