That sounds like the motor is faulty. That is a very common failure and one that is easily corrected. The video at the link below shows how to replace the motor in most top filter models.

The motor used in top filter models is 279827, available below.
Lastly check ur DOOR SWITCH for continuity with a meter when the button is pushed in the (on/Door closed position,) it may have gone bad. Kenmore Whirlpool Dryer Won Start Easy Fix
Test the PUSH start switch with meter for OHMS. Should show OHMS when pushed in or on start, and no ohms or infinity when in off position.
If you hear a humming/clicking sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor.
Try this test out to see if u have weak windings or relay/capacitor on motor.
Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings
sounds like one of the relay on the main board is bad. some models have heater relay and motor relay off the board, you might want to take a look, if it is, swap the relays. if it runs but no heat, then you have a bad relay. if its on the board itself, you can probably replace the relay if you know how to solder and can find the relay locally or online. or just buy the new board
If this unit has a timer it could be faulty. Make sure with the schematic in hand that all the wires are in the right spots on the motor. I did not post the model number so I am not sure what model you have but looks like a Whirlpool part number. If motor was running before you attempted to remove blade, this is a good one. If the motor relay is clicking but not turning that is almost like power is not were it should be. You can contact me here or reply to FIXYA with a response. Click here http://apcoappliancerepair.wordpress.com/?s=dryer+motor to see posts on dryers. I wish I could be more help. The first place I would start is with a schematic.
This sounds like a problem with the thermal fuse blown which is wired in series with the motor. Power to the motor is terminated when the thermal fuse blows and the motor cannot run. No dryer function works when the motor cannot run. Click on the link below for the detailed instructions in troubleshooting this kind of Whirlpool Duet or Kenmore Elite dryer problem.
If the click is on the relay then check on the power to the motor, If there is power and it wont turn , the motor can be defective. But if there is no conectivity from the contactor then the controller relay can be faulty.
It will be good to inspect your observations before we can confirm on the exact point of fault.
Please comment.
