Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player

GOGEAR SA5285 controls are frozen

I turned the GoGear off this morning. It won't turn back on, none of the controls are responding. i have had it for about 60 days. I am looking for the receipt in case it needs to be returned. Any advice. It won't charge either when cconnected to the pc.

    yes i was figing my older borther in it was laying on the table then when we were done to clainm down i went to listin to it and it wouldnt of come not how long i helded the power button

I have been charging my go gear into my computer but when i try and turn it on it just blinks on and off i just bought it a week ago and i dont have the stuff to go return it how can i fix this??

Product will not turn on,only when i plug in a usb chord, it will update then turn off.


I would suggest to hold the play/pause button, then hold the switch on button for a moment. Ideally it should boot into recovery mode. Now click the "Clean Up", and then "Reboot". If that fails, try to reload the firmware again.

Make sure you back up all songs on the GoGear before attempting this solution.

1) Back up all files on the GoGear
2) Open up Philips Device Manager (Start --> All Programs --> Philips)
3) Click on the Repair Tab, and look for a msg that says connect the player while holding the volume + button
4) Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new

Now you can do the firmware upgrade that will prevent this problem from occuring in the future. Open up Philips Device Manager and click the Update tab. This problem was caused because most GoGear's were designed for Windows XP with Media Player 10 (which is no longer the latest standard).

I turn on my Go Gear and it freezes


Get a firmware upgrade...whenver you reset the device it reset the firmware install..so get the firmware upgrade and that should solve the problem you are having..hope this solve the problem

Microwave came on by itself


Yes this is usually caused by the touch assy, but $278 !!!!! Thats kinda steep considering the panel assy is only around 30-60 bucks!!! It will need the touch assy and even possibly the control board, because sometimes the logic IC gets fried and causes "ghost issues" as well.
