When i put in a brand new disc it is not reading the disc

Hi,

When dvd player is selecting disc, the lens is weak. After sometime, it will not read any disc you insert.

If you change the lens it will stop the selection of disc.

your x box's door laser might have dust around it

I have found that the only disk type that works in my DC220 is made by TDK found at CVS. Sony or Maxwell, has never worked for me.

make sure it's compatable with the system, there are many different formatted discs out now and all are not working well, it's not by chance a blu ray disc is it?

same here when ever i put in a brand new game just opened into my brand new xbox it reads for 5 seconds and then says sorry please clean disc and it was clean brand new.

Some audio cd's work better than others. I have experienced some problems with the Maxell brand so I switched brands. It can be quirky. Sometimes you get a bad lot of discs. I have had no problems since that bad lot of discs.
