Cannot download pics off camera. Computer not recognizing camera Cannot find software to re-install

If your computer does not recognize the camera when you plug it in to the computer and you do not have access to the software needed, you will need to find another way to get the pictures onto the computer straight from the memory card. If your computer has a memory card reader, use that because that's the easiest way to access pictures on a memory card. If your computer does not have a memory card reader, you can buy a USB adapter that your memory card can fit into and your computer can read through USB. They are cheap and useful. Here's a good one for 12.40 from amazon.com that reads many types of memory cards including:

MMCmobile, SD, SDHC, MMC, MMCplus, RS-MMC; MiniSD,miniSDHC; microSD, microSDHC; MMCmicro; CF Type I and II, Microdrive; MemoryStick, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick Pro Duo; MemoryStick Micro (M2)

Cybershot DSC-P8/P10/P12 problem

The camera may have encounter some damage on that incidenst , what you can try first here is to remove the battery for about 24 hours and after that check if you still ahve teh same problem, but if you're concern in transferring photos to your computer you can still do that using a card reader where you can put the memory card and conenct to the computer....

Cable for downloading pics to pc is not recognized by pc.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Sony cyber shot 7.2 Carl Zeiss transfer pics on memory card

No.
Take the memory stick out of the camera then connect to the computer. You can then transfer the pictures from the camera to the computer.
Alternatively, use the camera's copy command to copy the pictures from the internal memory to the memory stick.

Problem in uploading pictures to my computer

Did you install the proper drivers for your camera? When installing the software for the camera the drivers should go in with it.

Some models of cameras can work as a type of memory stick. When connected to the USB port, the camera would be addressed as if it was a drive. Refer to the instruction manual for details.

If you get a card reader that is compatible to the memory card in the camera, you can remove the memory card from the camera and use the card reader. The reader should be connected to the computer via the USB port. It will be seen as a memory stick, and therefore it would be seen as a drive.
