Make sure you are login in as an administrator. If you have XP home then go into safe mode.

Goto My computer, Documents and settings, "Then right click on account that is locked" and goto properties. Click the security tab, advanced, then owner tab. Select the account that you use as your main account (As long as it is an administrator account) It will ask you if you are sure you want to take control over the folder and ask about the sub directories, yes to both.

After that you should be able to access that folder with ccleaner.

You need to log-on as administrator to unlock it. If you're a user yourself, you will not be allowed to unlock it.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Waeco - the less are flashing - what does this mean?

The flashing of the light means that the drive is being read or being written to. This is an indication that all is going well.
It might even occur while you are doing nothing, windows has a lot of indexing or defragmenting and other services that are running at the background.
To see what is running under windows do:
Start-type "taskmgr" without the quotes and do enter. Now under processes tab you see all processes that are running at that time.
Do not close anything because that could stop vital processes, but close this window neatly with the red cross upper right.

To keep in control of what is all starting up and to clean temp files and startup programs I use CCleaner. Download this directly from piriform.com and watch out that you do NOT install the ask toolbar.
Run ccleaner to remove unnecessary files.

https://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER

To stop programs running at startup: goto Tools-Startup and set any program that you do not need immediately to Disabled.

Carefull when you run registry cleaner: always say yes to make backup registry values to be removed, sometimes they will be needed, so you can double click it to reinstall to registry. Store these backups in a place you can find, for instance a map Regcleaner.
I run CCleaner after every internet session, because I am a bit concerned about cookies and tracking cookies, and I also use HitmanPro (free version) and HitmanPro alert for my browser.

Why do I get insufficient permission exe when I try to download pc cleaner

Why do you want to download PC Cleaner, is the question?

I'd sooner stick needles in my eye.

1) Remove all programs you do not use, Except Windows programs.
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

2) Remove personal documents you can live without.
Photos, music, videos, and personal documents you have created, or downloaded.

3) Download and use CCleaner.
It's a registry cleaner that is free
The free version works as well as paid for registry cleaners, and better than some.

Every time you delete a program, or application; fragmented files are left behind.
When you visit a website, cookies are attached.
These are just some of the tidbits left behind.

Get rid of the junk

They take up ROOM...........

When a Harddrive is 50 percent full, you start noticing the computer slowing down.
As the harddrive reaches 70 percent full, you Really notice it.

Remember how fast the computer was when you first got it?
Didn't have all that junk on it.

I can guide you in using downloading, installing, and using CCleaner. I use it daily.
It's easy. Click on two buttons while in Cleaner mode.
(Analyze/Run Cleaner)
Click on two buttons in the Registry mode.
(Scan for Issues/ Fix Selected Issues)

Lastly defrag your harddrive

C) http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/screenshots

Click on the screenshots to see examples of the user interface
The top one, and the third one down is the one's you use.
Others are for more advanced settings, and I can guide you there, also.
Do not recommend using advanced settings, unless you are an advanced user; and respectively, you are not.

(Or you would know about PC Cleaner)

My computer takes a long time to start up do I need a new screen

Is it a VGA monitor? Looks like a small TV? Then yes, perhaps. If it seems as though it takes the monitor a long time to warm up.

Flat LCD screen? No.

What you need to do is to clean up your harddrive.

1) Remove programs and applications you haven't used for a LONG time, or will never use.
(Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs)

When the harddrive becomes more than 50 percent full the computer starts slowing down.
When the harddrive reaches 75 percent full is when you really start noticing it.

2) Defragment your harddrive.

Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Rearrange items on your hard disk to make programs run faster

3) Use a registry cleaner.
Rids the registry of 'bits and pieces' of fragmented files that Defragment cannot get rid of.

Every time you go to a website you pick up cookies. Harmless but take up needed harddrive space.
Every time a program or application is deleted there are fragments of files left behind.

I use CCleaner. It's Free, and works just as well, if not better, than the paid for versions.

Information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCleaner

Click on the illustration on the top right of the page, to see the user interface in an enlarged version.

CCleaner homepage

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Click on Download in the green rectangle.
On the next page, no, you don't need priority support.

Go below this to the heading > Version 3.0.1.1327 (2,894kb),
and click on the green >
Download from FileHippo.com

Now go to the Top Right corner of the page, and click on >
Download Latest Version 2.83MB

A small window will come up, (Takes a second), click on Save File.
Another small window will come up. Look at the heading of the window. This is where the file will download to.

You may see desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads, in the heading.

Desktop, of course means it will go to your desktop screen
My Documents = Start > My Documents
Downloads = Start > My Documents > Double-click on Downloads

When you see the file name double-click on it, follow the easy instructions.

Need a step by step on how to use CCleaner let me know in a Comment.

joecoolvette

How do I get rid of unwanted photos of e mails

If you are talking about pictures attached to emails, they are stored in Temporary files. When you delete the temp files, the pictures and videos will be deleted as well. I recommend using CCleaner to clean out temp files, cookies, history, etc. Go to www.filehippo.com, scroll down in the center column and you will see CCleaner under System Tuning. Click on it and then click on Download Latest Version in upper right of screen. Wait for a dialog box asking to save it or run it. Unless you have more than one PC to share it with, select Run and it will install as soon as it is downloaded. Double click on the CCleaner icon and you will see the cleaning options. Select analyze to see what it finds and Run Cleaner to delete all of you unwanted temp files. Go to Options > Cookies to keep any login cookies you want to keep.

There is a program called ccleaner (yes double "c") available at download.com. It is very good at cleaning out cookies and temporary files. Ad-aware is also available there and will remove most tracking cookies and malware and is also free.

My yahoo messanger account has been locked , how to remove that lock

Hi,
you may have lost your cookies.
Have you got 2 browsers on your PC?. Its always handy for troubleshooting. I use IE and Firefox, If something is not working with one I launch the other.
Most sign in problems can be cured by cleaning up internet browsers and re-setting cookies
Try this.
Download ccleaner and give it a couple of runs include 'registry' from left hand toolbar. Do not be alarmed by the amount of files you have to delete - especially if you do not clean out your browser on a daily basis.

http://www.filehippo.com/download_cclean…

Make sure 'caps lock' is not applied and type your password where you can read it, to ensure you have no sticky letters or numbers transposed.
Set your status to "offline" in yahoo MAIL by using the dropbox next to your name. This will allow you to have mail and messenger open at the same time.
Restart your computer
Use this link for the first sign in, to reset your cookies https://login.yahoo.com/config/login_ver…
Sign in.
note - you may have to drop the '@Yahoo.com' to sign in
Keep ccleaner for regular maintenance of your browser

Have you ever cleaned the Temp files off your PC? Sounds like you've used up all your temp file space.

Download and run CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com). This is a serious "degreaser" for the PC, best tool ever made for serious housekeeping.

OR simply go to Start/Control Panel/Internet Options. Under Browsing history, select Delete Temporary Internet Files.

While there, may as well delete your Cookies since they hold your surfing profile.
