Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have an Hp Pavilion A735W. I can log on, but the system automatically logs off after about 5-10 seconds. I've rebooted, turned everything off and back on again. Same thing happens. Any ideas please?

ok.. ill give you the instruction on how to repair your os..

    1. Insert your Windows XP CD into your CD and assure that your CD-ROM drive is capable of booting the CD.

    2. Once you have booted from CD, do not select the option that states: “Press F2 to initiate the Automated System Recovery (ASR) tool.” You’re going to proceed until you see the following screen, at which point you will press the “Enter” to proceed to the next screen.

    3. then it will ask you to press "F8" just press F8 to proceed to the next screen

    4. Now the screen shows how you may proceed to install windows xp.. JUST PRESS "R"

    5. Now sit back and relax it will repair your windows xp automatically.. make sure you have your license key to your windows xp..

You need to use a cd of your Operating system to install it. For you cannot just copy the files from your old hard drive to your new one.

Can't Sign into Windows...How to do system reboot if I can't log in to windows?

Hi e_norris

Do you have either the Windows installation disk or a Recovery Disk. Some manufacturers ship the Recovery Disk with the PC others require you to create one when you first turn the computer on.

Logging in

Restart your computer. Upon seeing the boot screen press F8 sometimes more than once. You will get an option window of which you chose "Safe Mode" you will get to the log in screen. Select administrator. Select "Yes" to the window that pops up. Move all the files in your my documents folder under c:\Documents and settings\HP Owner\My Documents. If you don't your stuff will be deleted. Move it to a different folder like c:\Backup.
Then go into user profiles in control panel and select HP Owner then change password. Then reboot and you will be good.
