The flame must hit the tip of the thermocouple to get a good contact with the coopernickel bimetal.
Remove the new thermocouple and use a pencil eraser to clean out the hole. Get all the corrosion off there.

Montgomery Ward Water Heater model SRM-3330505 water water in showers only stays hot 5-10 minutes

That is one old heater. If it is electric the top element may be bad, or most probable is the tank is full of sediment which you or may not be able to drain. Personally I would not spend any or time on a old water heater. It sis very inefficient lose heat since the tnpk has minimal insulation which cost you money for more energy to reheat it.

Just need to know how to light the pilot on a Montgomery Ward wall furnace model sfb-50219

I can't speak to the specific model but with most pilot lights, there is a switch setting or button for lighting. If you release that switch or button too soon, the pilot will not remain light. Hold the switch or button ON while you light the pilot. Keep holding the switch or button for about a minute until the heat sensor is sufficiently warmed that the pilot light stays on. Good luck.

The heater will not stay burning

Depending on it's age, it's probably the Thermocouple going bad. Or you may have an insect nest inside the screen housing, around the pilot assembly, that needs to be removed. If you need to replace the thermocouple, I suspect the heater was manufactured for Montgomery Ward by Uniflame or Blue Rhino. Either should fit your heater.

Have a wall heater thats wont stay lit think i need to change the thermal coupler. what do you think

Check and make sure the pilot flame is hitting the thermocoupler.Flame must touch thermocoupler, if the flame is not touching it, you may have to remove and clean pilot orfice to make flame stronger. check this before replacing thermocoupler, good luck.

How do i light the pilot on a ward floor furnace madel 570 edr

You need a very kong wire and a kitchen match. Turn the knob on top to pilot and push down have your flame already down thru the pilot hole at the bottom of the inside of furnace. Hold for a few seconds and release knob trun to heat. This unit works on a power pile systm and generates milivolts from the flame. Rus
