What lights are flashing on the control panel? With these Electrolux units, the lights flashing actually indicates a specific code, and may or may not reflect an error code on the unit.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

Clean light blinks on whirlpool dishwasher won't run

If you aren't sure whether Control Lock is on, press a cycle button on the keypad. If Control Lock is on, the light will blink three times.
Turning off Control Lock:
  1. Press and hold the Lock Button for four seconds. The lock light will disappear.
  2. Once off, you should be able to start your wash cycle.
Note: If Sleep Mode is on, turn that off first, then turn off Control Lock.

Like many other electronics, you may need to reset the dishwasher control panel by turning it off, waiting, then turning it back on.
  1. Press the OFF button.
  2. Disconnect the dishwasher from its power source by unplugging it or by turning the circuit breaker off at the electric panel.
  3. Once disconnected, wait one minute, and turn the power back on.

Dishwasher won't start when start button is pushed. Control lock button flashing.

Hello. From what you're describing, you've locked yourself out of using the dishwasher, lol. Look on the control panel for a button with a "key" symbol beneath it or the words "control lock/5 sec" or something to that effect. What that means is you have to push and hold the button for 5 seconds or so until the lock is disengaged(not a physical lock--it allows operation again from the keypad) The purpose of the control lock is to keep "little busy fingers" or others from changing the settings or starting the washer without supervision. Someone may have inadvertently touched the key for too long and initiated the lock feature. I see it all the time as a tech in the field. This feature is especially important on the touch panel models of dishwashers and the glass, touch panel ranges for obvious reasons.(I nearly removed my fingerprints on a touch panel range while servicing the above-the-range microwave.) I hope I helped you!

Dishwasher won't run. Normal light and cancel light flashing cont

Hi,

The door latch pulls the door tightly closed to prevent water leakage around the door. It is also designed to prevent operation while the door is open. The door latch works in concert with the door switch to ensure that the door is tightly closed and latched. The door switch is a separate part from the door latch and is found inside the cabinet. The switch is off when the door is open. Depressing the switch closes the circuit and enables dishwasher operation. Closing the door does not depress the switch all the way. Only when the door is closed and latched, does the door fully depress the switch.

If the door latch is not properly aligned it may not pull the door tightly closed and the door switch will not be fully depressed. Unless the switch is fully depressed the dishwasher will not operate. It is a simple matter to determine whether the door latch is the problem. Simply open the door, close the latch and select a cycle and depress the switch. Note that if the test is successful, with the door open, the dishwasher will operate and water may spray out. Make sure to first remove all tools from inside the dishwasher. Do not reach inside the dishwasher during the test. Now, inspect the cabinet where the door makes contact with it and locate the door switch. It may have a protruding button or spike or more likely it is a hole with a piece of metal or plastic inside it. You must fully depress that switch. If the switch is recessed, then use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil, to depress the switch.

Thank you !!

Lock on light flashing

I finally decided to calm down and use my head and managed to solve the problem. I read the instructions that are on the top of the dishwasher door. ( Smart move on my part HUH!) It said that when the door lock light is on everything is disabled. Hold the air/dry button down for 4 seconds and the lock light will go out. Guess what, IT WORKED. Here is what I learned from this. Always read all instructions. I spent $9.95 for an answer that was right in front of me. Humans can be so dumb I am!!!!

Cancel light and rinse only light keep blinking and wont start

Hello,

Hopefully you have resolved your issue. I have not heard of the cancel light flashing issue. I have had problems with the clean light flashing seven times over and over and the control panel will not operate. Here is the solution to that. Maybe it will work for your issue as well.

Open dishwasher door,
Push Hi Temp Scrub button,
Push Saver Dry button,
Push Hi Temp Scrub button again,
Push Saver Dry button again,
All lights on control panel will come on.
Close dishwasher door,
Push Baked on Cookware or Normal Button.
Dishwasher should start and complete cycle.

It is good if you have kids that play video games. Their fingers are used to pushing buttons quickly. I guess this resets the control board. The service guy let me have this info as I used to deliver appliances and work on them somewhat.Hope this helps.

Good Luck,
Tom
