Lamp will not turn on. I have (2) PJ458D DLP projectors. I took the lamp out of the projector that is not working and placed it in the other projector and everything worked fine. When I press the on off button green flashing light goes off for a few seconds and the begins blinking again (green light will not turn solid) but lamp will not come on.

Lamp will not come on when I press the on button. It's like nothing comes on (no fan & no lamp)

I turn the power on and the lamp light turns on for a few seconds green then starts flashing yellow. The lamp does not turn on. The manual says it is overheating but both fans seem to be working. Help please.

You have either a power supply issue from thesupply module that is first inline on the board to main board, or the lamp receptacle is not making good contact with the lamp bulb. if you have a multimeter and feel comfortable doing this you can check for continuity on the board . thids will tell you where the bad connection is. please rate the solution........thanks

If the ventilation fan is not spinning you will really have this problem, because if the fan is not working overheating problem will arise and will lead to this problen, so you will need first to replace the ventilation fan and that should fix this problem....

Hope that helps........

I recommend starting with a factory reset. On page 32 of the manual are reset instructions. Here is a site to download the manual. I hopefully think it may be a set-up problem. The projectoe may not be coming on because of this.

Hi,
Let me know when you press On button, does its ventilation fan spin or not? If fan starts and throw air then problem is ballast supply of projector.
Thank you.

It sounds like an internal problem. How long have you owned the projector? How long have you been experiencing this issue? Once I have more information I can assist you further.
Thanks,
Lee

It is definitely sound like a problem with the fan then if its not spinning. I would recommend having the unit serviced.
For information on obtaining warranty service, call your ViewSonic
dealer or ViewSonic. ViewSonic's Customer Support telephone numbers
are: 800-688-6688 in the U.S. and 866-463-4775 in Canada

Call that number on having your unit serviced at the nearest service center. If you still have any questions or need any assistance let me know. If you could reconsider your rating and accept and rate my solution appropriately it would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lee

Hello! I have a DELL 1209S that the picture is wavering. Is it spring?! Some vertical lines almost invisible in the background are also perceived. What can it be?

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

  • Secure the lamp cover and the air filter cover of the projector body if the projector does not power on. Ensure that the power cable is firmly connected to the projector and an active power plug. If the projector was turned off and then on quickly--let it sit for 90 seconds before trying to turn it on.

  • 2
Replace the projection lamp if the projector will not power on or if the lamp indicator is flashing. Turn off the projector and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Locate the lamp cover and remove or loosen the lamp cover with a screwdriver. Carefully remove the projection lamp from the projector housing using the handle, if available.

  • 3
Place the new projection lamp into the projector housing and secure it to the projector. Replace the lamp cover and reset the lamp timer. Power on the projector to ensure the new lamp is working correctly.

  • 4
Remove the projector from the enclosed area to allow air circulation if it constantly overheats. Place the projector into an open area and make sure there is no blockage for the ventilation holes. Unplug the projector for at least 45 minutes to allow it to soft reset.

  • 5
Clean the air filter to allow the projector better air circulation. Turn off the projector and unplug it from the outlet. Remove the air filter cover and use a vacuum to remove dust from the area. If the filter is unable to be cleaned correctly or is damaged, then replace it. Pull the air filter from the projector and place the new one in the now empty slot. Close and secure the air filter cover.

Hello :

Try to change the bulb .

Here is how :

1:Make sure that your power switch is off and that the power cord is unplugged from the electrical socket.
It is also wise to unplug any other cables and label them in order to restore them in the right way once the lamp is replaced.

2:In order to see the lamp, remove the access handle on the outside cover. You may need to use a screwdriver.

3:Pull out the used lamp and clean the relevant parts using micro fiber products and not paper.
Please note that in some projectors a small inside filter should also be replaced.

4:Insert the new lamp into the projector carefully avoiding touching the glass of the lamp itself.
Touching the lamp will deposit skin oil that will likely damage any new lamp during use.

5:Reassemble the access panel, replug the cables and power up the projector.

Things You'll Need:
new projector lamp
screwdriver
micro fiber duster
Warning:
avoid touching the bare projector lamp.

please rate !

My Viewsonic PJ458D lamp not coming on

I have the same problem before. I found a replacement fan. A computer chassis fan works perfect. It should be 60mmx60mm - plenty in E-bay for about $5.00. Very easy to open the unit to replace the fan. It has 2 fans in a rubber housing. Check which one need replacement.
