Question about LG Washing Machines

1 Answer

The washing machine drum turns slowly and then stops so is unable to continue the cycle. It has power, the water is pumping normally, but will not turn once water is pumped inside. It is a front loading model from LG. Model number is WD-8013F

There is a drain plug and filter under the drum. You access it from the front by taking the panel under the door off. Get ready for lots of water to come out when you take the drain plug off. Clean out the area of the filter and drain plug.

The machine runs but won't spin.

Does water remain in the machine at the end of the wash cycle? Does the water pump run when it is supposed to? If not, the pump may be jammed with debris or the motor is defective. Can you drain the water by lowering the drain hose to floor level and into a bucket or pan? Does this allow the spin cycle to proceed? It is normal for the machine to test for spin balance (it will agitate further if it is not balanced). Hope some of this helps!

Washing machine fills with water when not in use.

Either your pressure in the main line bringing water to your machine is insufficient; or your intake water valve is defective; which you can replace easily.

Probably blockage in pump or sump hose from drum to pump.

Remove and clean.
