What OS controls the bootloader? Is it linux or Windows? I had the same problem when i deleted ubuntu, the bootloader remains and i cannot boot windows. I then placed the windows CD and loaded recovery console. Im not sure of the command but I think it was "fixMBR" or something similar. Just type help for the commands.

My sony vaio pcg-551l won't go past "no operating system"

If this is the first time your trying to start up this computer try to restart it. Sometimes brand new laptops can fail to find the operating system on first startup. If this isn't the case it sounds like your Hard Drive is either disconnected or has had a critical failure.

All step to format pc

insert the operating system CD, restart the computer and enter BIOS, change boot method to CD or DVD drive first, save changes, restart and then let it boot to the OS CD, select the option to install OS then you can delete partitions or just reformat existing partitions before reinstalling the OS. Be sure to save important files before you start with the process. hope it helps

Sir my laptop is does not start. error ir operating system not found.

If the laptop does not find the operating system on boot up it's ether the HDD has failed or the Operating system is corrupt the only answer is to reinstall the operating system or change the HDD.
You could try getting into the Bios on boot up normally by pressing F12 after pressing the power on button and checking if the laptop is seeing the HDD.
I say F12 but without knowing the laptop model it's a guess.
It should tell you on the boot up screen which function key to press to enter the Bios.
Once in the Bios check to see if the HDD is listed if it is the laptop is seeing it so it should be a simple matter of reinstalling the OS if its not then the HDD is faulty you will need to replace it and reload the OS.

When compuetr starts no boot device available but BIOS seen

If there is no HDD or any other boot device the BIOS will always be present. This problem occurs if you haven't installed any Operating System on the HDD. So when the computer is booting it finds no booting device files and that's why showing error message. Format your HDD and install OS to boot smoothly. But if you have HDD with OS still this error happening then it might be a reason of corrupt system files which are required during booting or it may be the case that your HDD is damaged and cannot boot from there. If your HDD is damaged and still showing on the BIOS it may happen because it is detecting as a device but the as the device is damaged is cannot boot from it. Check these steps to solve your issue.

MY COMPUTER SAY NO OPERATING SYSTEM I PUT IN AND

If your computer says no OS running, then there is no way for you to recover the program. The only way that you can do is to reinstall the OS disk.

Another thing you can check first the settings of your bios. check if it set to HDD as the primary boot and if not change to HDD as primary boot then save changes. restart the computer.

Missing operating system

Guess that the OS in ur system had got erased/corrupted. This is probably because of the HDD failiure or bad sectors in it. Try reinstalling the OS using the respective CD. Just put the OS inatallation CD in the drive, change the boot sequence to Cd drive and boot ur system..you will be lead to the OS installation...CArryon the on-screen instructions..

Missing operating system

missing operating system message usually means that your HDD is pooched, or corrupted
check your bios settings to check that it can still "see your HDD"

if you can hear your hard drive going "click, click, click" when attempting to boot, that is usually a bad sign

to perform setup use orignal recovery setup disk or OS disks of your choice (BOOT from CD) to install OS from scratch.
