Question about Washing Machines

Kenmore front load washer model 110

This thing is one month past it's one year warranty and flashing F-30 about half way through the cycle. The owners manual only says this is an electrical problem and to call for service. I don't see any other model numbers unless it's on the back. Very heavy to pull out far enough to see.

What does this code mean specifically?

I refuse to deal with Sears anymore, so if I have to call another repair place or do it myself I'd like to know where to start.

If you are interested, below is the condensed version of the reason I will never set foot in a Sears store again:

Sears/Kenmore used to be the gold standard for practically everything. A little over a year ago I bought 4 major appliances from Sears. There were hassles galore at every turn during delivery, rebate processing, exchange,and lack of any kind of customer service. I wrote down every attempt to contact both the local Sears store and corporate to correct all the problems I was having through out the entire process. I never once received any type of acknowledgment from Sears at any level let alone an apology.
I have vowed never ever to spend one more cent at Sears.
Now my front loading washer model #110 has developed a problem. About half way through the wash it stops and flashes the trouble shooting code F30. The owners manual only says it’s an electrical problem and I should call for service. It’s just past the one year warranty. Interesting.

Hi delere, Huuum At your service!
This F30 is called a code or Error code.

With an error code.
This can reset the system.
First unplug the washer and wait a 5 minutes then restart it.If you can not reach the plug then cut off the power instead at the breaker.
It's like rebooting your computer when its acting strange!
Usually it corrects some error problems if they are not serious but an electronic glitch.

Also there is something that every manufacturer does for their customers when there are multible service problems or they happen right after the warranty ends.
It is called in the industry a, "PUSH - PULL"

That means that even after the warranty if the unit is having a problem they will fix it or replace it for the customer at no cost!.
Now Sears dose not manufacturer but they can do the same thing and send so many appliances back to the maker! Or the maker gets no more Sears business!

If my suggestion of the error correction works , GREAT!!!
then give me a solved rating before you sign off!
But if not or you have any other problem soon, with this washer, here is the formula to follow!!!

Here is what you must do!

I do this a lot for my customers! We are a family business for over 65 years

You get together all the service invoices and organize your self with the sales slip and service slips and go into the Sears that sold it to you, right to the appliance department during the business day. And tell them you demand to see the store manager!

Then we are going to get them to fix it for free, or do a whats called a "PUSH-PULL"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You tell him when you bought it and how many times service has been to your rescue!
With documentation of dates.

Be calm, nice and reserved! BUT FIRM!

Some times I've told my customer that when it's past the end of the warranty that for good measure, Tell them,you want them to replace this lemon with a brand new machine!
Tell him or her......................
"I just took a loan to remodel my kitchen, and I have gutted the kitchen and found all my stainless steel Sears appliances that I am ready to purchase !
BUT, I cannot in good faith follow through with this buy until I see that Sears does indeed back up their product!

WARRANTY TIME MEANS NOTHING WITH DOCUMENTATION!

IT'S EASIER TO KEEP THE CUSTOMERS YOU HAVE THAN FIND NEW ONES TODAY!!!!!!
EVERY DAY THE MAJOR MANUFACTURERS ASK DEALERS TO DO A , "PUSH PULL".
THEY PAY US TO ORDER AND DELIVER AND PICK UP THE LEMON FOR RETURN TO THEM!
NO COST TO THE CUSTOMER!
Not even delivery.No matter what the dealer says to you about money!
No money, honey! Got me?
The companies forbid the dealers from taking any money from the push pull customer !
They pay us!!!
Unless you want to tip the guys on the truck.

We started with appliances 65 years ago and still sell them TOO!







How old is the appliance?

If the appliance is 10 years old or more you it may not be advisable to put good money into bad!
New appliances are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!
Water,Electric and detergent! And put money back in your pocket!
The new appliance will pay for itself in only a few years!

I can't find my owner's manual and my Kenmore front load washer is stopping in the middle of the wash cycle and flashing F-30. Don't know what to do. The washer is one year old.

On many washers, to the right of the components is a place where you can click and see PDF versions of the owners manuals.

probaly control bd problem ..call any way to get history started also may consider extended warranty from where you purchased it some other warranty company control may finally go after warranty expires and and extended one would help avoid problems getting coverage for a problem that may be present during original warranty..ever tried convincing company to repair something that was faulty to begin with??

My kenmore front load did that just a few months after I bought it. Unfortunately it was the the electronic board {brains of cycles} that had to be replaced. Had to replace it 3 times!! Warranty did cover it. Look into your warranty--at that time the boards were $200-$250 each!!
