I would check the water inlet valve first. Unplug the machine, turn off the water, and remove the supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the openings on the valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris and check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity will mean a bad solenoid and the inlet valve assy will need replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Calypso once wash cycle is selected. The

I had the same problem. My first indication of a problem was that when I washed whites with bleach, I would get dark stains on them. After ignoring problem for a while, then my washer got stuck in a wierd rinse / drain cycle. I decided to unbolt the washplate and found a black sock under the washplate. It seems that the plastic seal around the washplate has worn and allows clothes to get under the washplate and aslo snags clothes. After reassembling the washplate, I decided to pull washer out and inspect. I removed back plate and found another sock stuck in the drain tube. I removed the drain tube from the white plastic tank on washer. The other end of this tube connects to the pump. Once this obstruction was cleared the washer worked fine. My suggestion is: 1.Disconnect all hoses and inspect for objects in them. 2. Look under washplate. 3. With bright flashlight look in plastic tub. All except washplate can be done from back of washer. I still have to address the worn seal on the washplate. Any ideas anyone?

Try checking the lid switch. Sometimes the switch goes bad or the stem breakes and when the lid shuts it will not activate the switch. Usually located on the right side of the dryer. When the lid closes it will allow water to.fill. Washers are easy to fix and the part is cheap. Get it from amazon dont pay the crazy price your dealer wants. Trust me, i just fixed my mothers...

Machine fills w/water quits flashes lb? lz?

There is a water pressure switch that operates when the required water fills in the tub. this pressure switch in your machine is possibly faulty. In ur case the water keeps filling then it detects an error and stops that's when the lights start flashing. the pressure switch fails to detect the amount of water in the drum and so the machine doesn't move on to the next cycle
