Question about AT&T 8925 Tilt Smartphone
I recently upgraded my Tilt to Windows Mobile 6.1. My biggest reason for doing this was the threaded sms messaging, seeing as I was close to buying a third party app before I was aware that the upgrade included this. (I text quite a bit). Here we are, 2 days later, and I'm already starting to wonder if this was a mistake. I'm having two issues with my TIlt which did not surface until after the update. The biggest and most annoying problem is that my texting is terribly slow, that is to say, the text that I have typed has a bit of a lag compared to how fast I'm actually hitting the buttons. This was not an issue pre-update and it's driving me up the wall. As a side note, I had the space where I input my text seemingly shrink, so I could only see the upper half of the words I was typing, with the lower half covered up by the menu bar at the bottom. This went away after a soft reset, but Im afraid it might resurface. If it does, combined with the already terribly frustrating typing lag, I'm not sure what I'll do. My other problem post-update is that I can't seem to set a song as a ringtone. It only works with one song. Other than that I can only change it to the other various polyphonic choices that come with it. When I set a song as the ringtone it transfers the song to the ringtones file on my tilt, and it confirms that it has set it to my current ringtone, but in fact nothing has changed. Quite frustrating, I've spent countless hours tinkering with my tilt getting it just right, only to have my ringtones and texting thrown off. The only programs I have on the thing are three games that I got from AT&Ts media mall, the vistahide battery guage, a black dialer skin, and a black theme for the htc home plug in (I uninstalled the htc home plug in once I realized the 6.1 update set up the today screen to look identical). All of these I had on the phone before the upgrade, saving them on the memory card before the upgrade and installing them again afterwards. After writing this novel of a plea for help, I hope someone out there can give me a suggestion because I'm quite a fan of this phone (as well as not having to spend a fortune on another if I can help it).
