I wanted to know why i dont have color on the dvd's i put in my player

Go to the menu for the DVD player and look for RGB mode. If it is set to RGB, try changing it to another option, if not, change it to RGB. This has helped me on numerous occasions and the correct mode to use depends on the type of TV, cable, socket, etc..

I purchased a RCA DRC-8335 DVD/VCR RECORDER COMBO

For anyone who has an RCA DRC 8335 with dvd Recorder, here is a suggestion.
If your tapes have been recorded in SLP Mode, om another player, I can tell you they will NOT play on this thing!!
So, merely take another VCR, and a blank tape, Place the blank tape into the RCA DRC 8335 VCR side, and then, go to its Set-Up Menu, and go to OUTPUT. On the "ACTION BAR"Change the the RCA's output to "FRONT" and then, play the VCRr you stuck on top of the RCA!!
When the inage on the "Source tape is shown,
Record onto the RCA, in SLP Mode, Now, it will play, just fine.
Hope this helps. Jon (Found BY Accident!!)

I accidently selected in the setup for TV type> Aspect 4:3 & 480p. The setting was on Aspect 4:3$ 480i. Now I cannot stop my screen from rolling so I cannot get back into the Setup area to change it back....

connect an rca connection cable on the yellow video output on your dvd player to your tv, grab your tv remote and select that input, then go to the setup menu on your dvd player and change the settings.

Go to menu and sub menu video .Under video option you will see video formatt,e.g Pal,NTSC.You confrim your tv standered if its pal or NTSC (this you can check at back of your tv set ,not always mention but most of them are printed)On your dvd player
you have to select same formatt as your tv .If not sure of you tv system try auto system on you player.
NB dont select progressive scan by mistake otherwise you will not see any picture on your tv if its not progressive scan tv.
If you could mention tv and dvd model and brand will be able to advise you exactly.

There can one of two problems here. Either your DVD player's output is set to NTSC and you are attempting to play it through a PAL (European) TV, or you are perhaps using the SVHS output incorrectly. The solution is to access the player's setup menu and ensure the video output is set to your standard (PAL or NTSC). Hope this helps!
