Question about LG Flatron L1750S 17" LCD Monitor

2 Answers

LG Flatron L1750S LCD won't display anything...

The monitor shows power and if I restart it will blink for a split second and goes completely black. I have another monitor hooked up right now and it is working fine so it is not my video card. I have to shut down from the tower because I can't see the screen, but even restarting doesn't seem to do the trick. Ready to trash it unless someone has any suggestions! Thanks...

    Same problem... exactly. I had a Sony monitor for 10 years and it was still kicking. and this for 1 and broken.

    Exact same problem - not sure if it's worth fixing or if I should just buy a new moniter. If I do, it WONT be an LG.

    Exactly the same- just stopped staying on all of the sudden and can't keep the picture long enough to even turn off.

    Same problem, however, the monitor works fine when hooked to my laptop - just not to the hard drive. Does this mean it is not the monitor's fault? ANy suggestions on what could cause this with the hard drive?

    DUEL .... Flatron- L1717S ... SCREENS

    Same problem here with the screen NOT lighting.

    I have two L1717S screens side by side, one comes on as always the second on will flash on start up but then go blank. The power light is on & the other screen is fine.

    I will sit here for simply ages pressing the power button and each time the screen will flash on for just a split second. Then after giving up in frustration I leave the screen on and just try to work with the remaining screen - about an hour or more later I will try the power switch again and it works fine for the rest of the day.

    Then the same thing happens all over again next time I switch on the computer.

Replace faulty electrolytics. Look foe swolen ones on the circuit board.

To your concern, a couple of suggestions:

  • if you could try again a reputable electronics service center/shop, pls mention for them to look at the CCF (cold cathode florescent) lamps, the inverter and/or the main board;
  • the blinking light is significant, it could indicate loss of video signal or internal protection kicking in;
  • possibly heat related, check for any of the capacitors bulging or leaking.
If they would reference a service manual or a schematic diagram, pls relay that it is chassis CL-82 for an LG L1750S. Foremost to check would be for the presence of both the 12 and 5 volts,.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Why does my LG flatron 1953T LCD monitor (19') goes white

Because the fuse on scaler PCB is blown. Open the monitor, open metal cover, disconnect all cables coming between display and boards, take the chassis off the display.
On back side of display you will see metal cover, mounted with tiny screws, take them off. Unscrew the board also and carefully tilt it up. Observe tiny chip fuse (referenced F1 or FU1 or something with "F") somewhere nearby the connector, ring it, replace it with solder drop.
Take everything back together.

Screen flashes only for a split-second (as a second display for an iMac)

The inverter is faulty.If your Monitor is powered by a mains'kettle' type lead,then it MAY be repairable,provided you can find someone to do it.If you have an external power supply,then the chances are you have a separate inverter,and it is doubtful whetther you can find the fault or a replacement circuit board....which is why we have become a throw away nation !!
