Just last week my phone started acting crazy. I cannot get into the menu area. Every time I hit the menu button it goes to a screen that says "games & apps" at the top and the rest of the screen is blank. It locks up and will not do anything no matter what buttons you press. I have to close the phone and then it will reset itself. I have a new text message and I can't get into the test message folder to check it. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? I have tried everything, taking out the battery, taking out the smart chip....

Find your selection (example "Normal")
Hit the "OK" button
Then there are three categories to choose from on this next screen (call, message, phone) use the left/right keys around the "OK" button to choose which one you want.
Use the up/down keys around the "OK" button to modify the selection
For example, use the right key to go to "Phone" and then the down key to make adjustments.
Keep hitting the down key until the writing in the yellow menu says "volume"
From there you can adjust the volume
If you want to adjust call volume, highlight "call" with the left/right keys
Use the down key to go in the yellow area and keep pressing the down key until you see "ringtone volume" then hit "OK" and it gives you an option to adjust ringtone volume
Hope this helps!
You can disable the browser key to avoid accidental activation. Go to Menu enter the last four digits of your phone number into the "Lock Code" screen, press "OK," choose #2-Restrictions, then #5-Data, and "Lock." The screen will display "Data is restricted."
I have the same problem with my Intensity every time I keep it in my pocket. Unfortunately, you can't disable the voice recognition function completely, but you can make it more managable.
You can get rid of the voice that says "Please say a command" when you hit the voice recognition button, and instead make it just a single tone by following these steps:
- Hit the voice recognition button on the side of the phone - Press the right option button to go to the Settings - Go to #5, Prompts - Select Mode - Select Tones Only (the last option) - Hit OK
You can also reduce the volume by changing the output from the speakerphone to the ear piece, to make it quieter. Go to the Prompts menu like you did above, and select #2, Audio playback. Set it to "earpiece" and hit OK.
Now, when you accidentally hit that button, the phone will just emit a short tone that you probably won't even hear. Hope that helps!
i figured it out! i was wondering if it was something like the ipods where you have to hold the middle button and the menu button, and it is! you hold the menu button and the sleep button til it shuts off!
when phone turns on it probably says something in the way of needs initial set up or something simular? at that screen just hit clear button which will take you rt back to default screen then hit center menu button go to settings and then to phone settings, nam and chaNGE back to nam1,hit ok . phone will restart and come back on with everything normal again, let me know if different happens!
When your phone is closed, hit OK for the menu, then hit 6 for Keyguard Settings. There, you can not only change the time it takes for the keyguard to automatically go on, but ALSO change the keyguard unlock options from One Step Unlock (just hitting ok) to Two Step Unlock (hitting ok then clr). It's not a 4 digit code, but it's a lot better than just hitting ok, and much more time efficient than locking your phone every time you put it in your pocket.
