SOURCE: error??

Try using this it worked for my m4002a. It's the firmware update software.

http://download.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/autoupdater.exe

After downloading that just follow the instructions that pop-up with the program.

Mine wouldn't do anything before i tried this and afterwards it's been working without a problem.

SOURCE: my mp3 player won't format

This may be caused due to damaged firmware but can be recovered by firmware upgrade. Click on the link given below to download the Firmware folder on your computer. When done, refer to file "procedure.doc", a Word file included in the Firmware folder, and follow the procedure to upgrade the Firmware of MP3 player. Download the Firmware folder at http://www.curtisint.com/html/custservice/manuals/CUR_MPS1015_FW-UPGRADE.ZIP

if you have windows media player, which i uses to drag and drops all my songs, go to the sansa player which appears on the left, click on it. It should show all your songs and mostly everything, right click on the mouse and it should show a list of which song you wants to delete.

My computer will charge the mp but it will not recognize the device. How do i fix that?

Hi there, there are many ways to copy /transfer music to your player. Here¡¦s a common and simple way to do this process using Windows Explorer. Follow the instructions below: -Connect the disk storage (MP3 player) to your computers USB port. If the computer pops up a window asking what do you want windows to do? Click cancel. -Right click on My Computer and click on Explore. A split window will pop up and display the contents and drives on your computer. Look for the drive Removable Disk (E:) [The letter drive may vary depending on your computer] This is your MP3 player. -Next, drop down My Documents and click on the My Music folder. If you store your music files in a different location then find that folder. -Take a file from the My Music folder or where ever you store your music files, click on the music file drag and drop it into the E: Removable Disk on the left of the window. A window will pop up and display the progress of the copying. Repeat the process until your player is full. You have completed the file copy/transfer process! If this helped, then please rate, thank you!ea34b9e.jpg

Coby MP-610 Firmware Download

Replacing the firmware of your Coby 610 MP3 Player will unfreeze it and help it act normally again. This will also fix the 'File System Error' that has been popping up with some Coby 610 players. You can find it at the cobyusa.com website by choosing 'Mp3 & Portable', then 'Mp3 & Mp4 Players', then your model 'MP610', from the support page.

Here is the Coby 610 Firmware Direct Link.

da1c744.jpg

Unpacking the zipfile will give you a PDF file with instructions, and a program file to run.

Your music will be erased when you run this firmware update. The instructions suggest that even if your mp3 player won't startup properly, if you plug it into your computer you should be able to access it as a removable disk, and copy all your music to a temporary folder on your computer.

Here are the steps:

  1. Plug your MP610 into your computer.
  2. Copy all your music to a temporary folder.
  3. Disconnect your MP610 from your computer.
  4. Disconnect as many USB devices as possible from your computer (to simplify identifying the MP610 at a later step, and avoid damaging other devices by trying to load the MP610 firmware into them by mistake.)
  5. Run the Firmware Update program 'MP610 T LCD Firmware Update for file sys err.exe'
  6. You will see a screen with up to 24 numbered, empty boxes.
  7. Connect the MP610 to your computer. It will show up in one of the boxes.
  8. Once the MP3 player shows up, click on the Firmware Feature icon to start the firmware upgrade.
  9. After the firmware update is complete, you will receive a checkmark in the firmware box.
  10. Disconnect the MP610.
  11. Close the firmware update software.
  12. Turn on the 610 to confirm it starts up and the display reads 'COBY'.
  13. Plug it back into your computer and copy your music back on to it.

Hello,

If your adding music to the device and its not playing, its because your audio files are not the correct format. This unit only plays MP3 audio or Uncopyrighted Windows Media Audio files. You can test this by connecting the MP3 player, copy one of the sampe audio files under 'My Music' location on your computer and paste it on your mp3 player. It will play the audio fine.

How to play: Hold in play button until red ligh is steady, then press Play again to start the audio.

Make sure you remove any audio file that is not the correct format.

to check format of song:

right click the song, go to properties, under properties it will say 'Type of File', make sure this says MP3, thats the safest way to go.

I recently had the same problem with the MP-845 but I managed to figure it out. If you use the AMV converter (download at: http://www.mympxplayer.org/mp3-player-utilities-dc44.html)

or use the software provided, you can convert all your video files to AMV files and add them to the device that way. Step by step instructions for how to convert to AMV files can be found at:
http://www.bestshareware.net/howto/how-to-convert-video-to-amv.htm

I hope this helps you. It's actually really cool once you get it working :)
