Question about HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The printer works just fine. For scanning, the machine refers me to the documentation which I no longer have. It's possible that something didn't get installed correctly.
I can hear the machine dial the # but it won't fax. Please help and thanks!
Go into your HP settings in your applications and use the HP Scan Pro. You can tell your printer/scanner to scan that way and it works. My scan button still doesn't work but if I access HP Scan Pro module from my computer I can scan.

Does the All-In-One say Sanner failure...?
Try the steps mentioned bellow
Remove both the ink cartridges from the All-In-One.
Unplug the power cord from the All-In-One as well as the power outlet.
Now move the carriage (carriage is the one which holds the cartridge) Too and Fro till you feel the carriage is moving smoothly.
Then insert the cartridges close the access door.
Plug the power cord directly to a wall outlet without surg protector.
Before connecting the power cord to the All-In-One press and hold the # and no 6 button and then insert the power cord, do not release the keys
until you see a message a reset (if the screen goes blank then release the keys and turn the power on)
Now try printing a test page or make a copy

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Try using widows paint. Look in windows accessories off the start program menu. If you open windows paint, look for open file from "Scanner or Camera". Most likely you can get the scanner to work again in Vista. Otherwise...try Vuescan scanner software. I think you can get a free trial period online and it should also work. You'll have to pay for that if you like it.

I believe u have Vista. There is a known issue with Vista. The drivers in the Windows Vista operating system do not support button press functionality on the product. There is a workaround documented on the HP site. I had the same problem and this KB article helped me resolve it.

Might I suggest downloading the latest drivers for you HP Printer.
It's all explained in my guide in easy to follow steps, it is entitled How to Install the latest drivers for Hewlett Packard Printer!!!
I think you will need to go through the options of your printer and find the settings/option to clear the memory. I think there is not enough memory to store the copy in before it prints it.
Navigate to the Windows control panel and double click Printers and faxes.
Right click on the Printer and select properties.
This is where you may be able to find the settings to reset the memory of your printer.
Another way or option to look at is to use the software/program for this printer. The software for this printer may give you the option to clear the memory for your computer.
You may also want to consult HP via telephone in this regard.
