I am trying to print a booklet 2 pages per sheet double sided. Printing is OK but spacing is no good for the binding when the pages are cut in two. What instructions should I give the printer to allow...

Hi

By spacing, I assume you mean the margins at the centre.

The default margin settings are not the same for the right and left hand side of the page, so the printing on the reverse side is offset from the printing on the first side.

The right margin is always wider to allow for punch holes in file paper.

It is not the printer settings you need to adjust, it is the page layout of your word processing software.

Adjust the margin settings manually. In MS Office 2007:

Page Layout > Margins > Mirrored Margins.

Hope this helps.

I am a teacher. We have Dell computers with windows 7 on them. Recently our school district downloaded Microsoft Office 10. Since the new microsoft office, my xerox phaser 8500 is printing strange. ...

Hi fsaltzman,

You need to check the margin settings in the print preview option, make sure you decrease the margins that are set by default and try printing a test page , this should work fine.

On the File menu, you need to click Page Setup, and then click the Margins tab.
Here you can adjust the margins as per your convenience.

To View page margins :-
  1. You need to go on the Tools menu, select Options, and then select the View tab.
  2. Under Print and Web Layout options, select the Text boundaries check box.

The page margins appear in your document as dotted lines.

You can use these dotted lines to correct your margins so that your student's assignments are not cut off and there is no large margin as you have mentioned in your question.

You can view page margins in either Print Layout or Web Layout view only, and they do not appear on the printed page.

Hope this helps

My E-mail when printing on my HP Officejet J5780 cuts the right 1/4 page off at the right margin: appears that the font and picture sizes are enlarged and is cut of at the right hand margin.

that is not unusual, as emails are non formatted for printers, you may find that making the page 'scale' to the paper in print setup panel, will help this.

Printing is off center on the HP 6540. The image or page being printed is cut off on the right margin and on the bottem of the page.

ok, most likely your printer cartridges are off. In order to fix this, you can use windows to align them. Click start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes, and right click the printer thats giving you trouble. Then go to properties. Next, go to the services tab, and click align the cartridges, and continue from there.

Printer squeezes Web pages to left side of page and cuts lines

I found that the print margins on my browser were set incorrectly--four inches in on the right. I don't know how they got that way, and I found it only by looking at every possible setting on the browser. Thanks for your service, and I'll try it again if I ever need it.

Not printing whole page

Could be as simply as the right print margin in the application you are using. Try printing a test page by right-clicking on the printer in Printers and Faxes in Control Panel and select Properties. If the test page prints ok then check the margins in the application you are using - usually File>Page Setup. The right margin could be set to 5.0 in instead of 0.5 in.

Right Margin Does Not Print

This one work for me...on top left of the page click on file then click print. A box print with option opens...... click options then select or put a check on left bottom box that says print all linked documents....good luck!

2nd option or
Last option and 100% will print the entire page even allows you to select what you want to print inside the page. Its called webcollect and here is the link.......http://www.web-collect.co.uk/

Paper margin problem in pagemaker application

Do you mean the left margin is too large so all the content is shifted to the right and off the page? If this is the case, it is probably a setting in Pagemaker. In the file menu, choose "page setup" or "print setup". Check the paper size. Check the margins.
