This is the most outstanding white balance problem solver on the market. I do all types of photography - professionally, especially in buildings with all types of bulbs [incandesant, fluorescent, halogen...] and this sets the WB extremely fast and perfectly every time.

All the pictures come out with a pink tint! I have a E-500

Not much to go on here but I'll have a go at it. My first impression is that the camera "white balance" has been altered the E 500 has eight programed white balance settings. It also supports five picture modes one of which is Sepia which is a soft overcast of tan which could be mistaken for pink.
What may have happened is that camera white balance has been shifted to the florescent setting.
Here is a link that might help you reset your camera

About half way down the page you will see the presets for white balance titled colour and white balance.

Do you have the white balance set to something other than "auto white balance"?

Photographs pink

Take a blank white index card, hold it in front of the camera lens and take a photo. See if that helps set the White Balance to true white. If that does not work try setting the menu options to factory default. This sounds like a White Balance problem.

My Olympus EVOLT E-500 has been showing a pink tint when photographing browns. Can this be fixed by changing a setting?

Try a manual white balance setting using a white piece of paper as your target in the light you will be using.

One touch white balance

i have the e-500 and can only register one at a time. once you set the white balance using the one touch button, it stays that way until you one touch again or custom reset. however it may be possible to save to 'my mode' 1 or 2 ... or even 'custom reset' 1 or 2. according to the manual on page 119, it saves your wb setting and most of the other changes you have made.

reset camera... soft reset. Mode Dial to P, press Menu, right arrow (AF button), to card setup, down to custom reset, right to custom reset, OK, up to YES, the OK

One touch white balance

white balance... you can go through the white balance menu and change the custom to whatever temperature you want... camera 1, wb, cwb, right to change temp. you can also change the red and green on the presets by pressing right at each preset temperature.

now if you are using one touch wb, then put the wb on one touch, then in camera ready hold in the one touch button and press the shutter button while pointing to white or gray card. this is stored as one touch until one touch is done again or the camera is reset. turning off camera will not reset the custom wb.

so to access your stored one touch put wb on one touch because this stores that last white balance done

Camera does not take pics

I have had trouble with this and what I found is I was pushing on the white balance button at the time I was taking the photo. Try making sure your finger is not touching anything else.

Balance Function

This function is useful when you need more precise white balance than the Preset White Balance can provide. To set the optimum white balance for the shooting conditions, point the camera at a white object under the light source that you want to use, and press the OK button to set the white balance.
