Question about JVC Everio GZ-MG27 Camcorder

Open Question

HARD DISK DRIVE IS FULL

I am unable to record additional video due to this message, even though I have deleted over 33% of the files on the camera. I perform the disk cleanup function - assuming it will defragment and open up some space. No dice! My USB is not functional either, so I cannot download the important video clips to my computer. I am at a loss - I need to salvage these files!

SOURCE: I have deleted all files, but camera says Hard Disk Full

On page 39 of the instruction manual it tells you how to format both the hard drive or the SD card. If you do not have a copy of the manual here is the link:

http://books.jvcservice.com/booklist.asp?Model=GZ-MG21

click the "instruction manual which is the fourth choice...

also be sure any medium (HD, SD) is UNLOCKED when doing this. If you do not weant to completely format see page 40.

And for your comfort, a Mac does not convert anything on the camera. But for the future, don't drag and drop into the trash bin, use delete on the camera. This is the same problem I've seen w/others but calling Apple-who blames it on the PC format-who blames it on the Mac-and both blame it on JVC, gets you nowhere. This is very typical when multiple companies are involved.

SOURCE: recording problem

You have to remove your video files from your camcorder by attaching it to your PC USB connection. All your video files are still on your hard drive even though you deleted them from the display screen. I had the same problem and now I'm good to go.
Connect your camcoder to your PC, access the Drive, find the folder and delete the files.

FOLLOW this steps and fix it. God bless you

·
Fully charge the Sony digital Handycam. If the camera is not powering on or shutting down during the middle of a shoot, it is due to the battery. If the battery is unable to hold a charge (this occurs after a few years of use) you must replace the lithium-ion batter.
· 2
Press the "Menu" button if no audio is recording on the video camera. Choose the "Record" feature, then select "Audio." Oftentimes the audio comes (or is accidentally turned) off. Select the "On" option and exit out of the menu. Now all future recordings capture audio in addition to video.
·
· 3 Delete unwanted video files if your hard drive is full. When the internal hard drive is full you receive an error message stating the camcorder is unable to capture more footage. Bring up the "View" option on the camera, then select a video file you no longer want and choose "Delete."
· 4
Turn off the video camera and remove the battery. Wait a few minutes before inserting the battery back into the camera. If the menu or any other internal hardware on the computer is malfunctioning performing this reset corrects the problem.
· 5
Upload the video content from your camera to a computer via FireWire cable instead of USB. When using USB the quality is downgraded as it is unable to support the higher data stream required to upload videos. If you don't have a FireWire port on the computer (it is similar in size to a USB connection, but one size is curved and a "Y" icon is printed next to it) you will have to use the USB connection.

When i push record button the display says check card

I had this problem as well, I kept getting a 'check card' msg on the camera when trying to use my SD memory card. I was able to fix by deleting all files and folders from the disk with disk inserted into my computer (after transferring all files to hard drive of course). I then reinserted the blank SD card into my camera and it worked like normal. Note: before ejecting the disk from your computer makes sure to right click on the SD drive and tell it to "eject". It is then safe to remove disk from computer.

I have the Everio 30BG and have downloaded all the files onto my computer, however there is a message showing 'insufficient space' when I try to record, and yet there are not files. HELP>

Are you saving to the micro SD card or to the HDD? You need to go into your menu options to ensure that you are saving to the HDD automatically. Sometimes I used to save to the SD for pics and the HDD for video (set up in the menu). Maybe you are deleting the HDD files but automatically recording to the full SD card?! Check

Sony Handycam DCR-SR80 HD Camcorder File recovery

You may try some recovery software to rescue the files on your recorder, here are some for your option.

Photo Video Music Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Video Music Recovery for Mac

Both programs can also recover video and music.

Note: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the camcorder in case the original files(your recordings) are overwritten.
