Most lawnmowers manufactured over the past 15 years have a safety lever that needs to be pulled in to allow the mower to be started. This lever is normally located near the handrail and acts as a failsafe that shuts down the mower if you were to trip or release it . The intent is to protect you from injury if you let go of the handlebar. make sure you've puled in the safety lever before pulling on the cord .. otherwise, it shouldn't budge.. Hope this helps..

I have a top load F&P smart drive washing machine. It has been unplugged for two days.i have just plugged it in and the panel lit off briefly. When I push start button, nothing happens.

Hello Maureen Hooper,

I know this is going to sound poor... but check the power at the outlet first (good bet statistically)... Visually inspect the cord for any damage.

If you have access to beg, borrow or buy a volt-ohm meter
you want to make sure your cord is good end to end...
(measuring into your machine (looking into the hot & neutral).

Then you are going to need to go ON-LINE with your model number to find your primary power control...

On my machine a circuit board is accessed by removing the top panel from the rear of the machine (many videos available).

Most appliance parts houses now have video examples of PRECISELY HOW to ACCOMPLISH your repair... on-line chat & human support.

Most all the repair parts are the same quality... so if you can get our OWN PART NUMBER from your original documents... you came correctly shop buy PRICE ALONE.

While SEARS has the best on-line library.. they also TYPICALLY charge the HGHEST prices for the EXACT SAME PARTS you can buy everywhere (including eBay & AMAZON)...

and SEARS gets rude & pushy... (in my personal experience).

Hope this helps...

Manual Door Unlocking of Maytag Neptune Front Load Washers

Maytag Neptune Front-Load Washers are equipped with emergency access cord that can be used to unlock the door when the door lock mechanism fails to unlock it after a wash load is done. The emergency access cord is located under the top cover and can be accessed through the dispenser bezel. Make sure that power to the machine is disconnected prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the four screws securing the dispenser bezel to the top cover then lift the bezel off to access the emergency access cord. Carefully pull the emergency access cord steadily then open the washer door.

The pulling of the emergency access cord overrides the wax motor and the sliding gear is pulled from right to left away from engagement with the rotating gear. It allows the rotating gear to release the wire loop of the door.

The failure of the door lock mechanism to unlock the door is due to a failed wax motor in the extended position. This requires the wax motor to be replaced. Access to the door lock mechanism for the wax motor replacement requires the removal of the front panel and lifting the top cover. Click here for the detailed front panel and top cover removal procedure.

My door will not open

All washers have a time delay on the door lock, sometimes this unit burns out. Most washers have a cord to pull to unlock the front door this is usually accessible by taking the top panel off & searching for the cord.

Replace lid switch on kenmoore 23822100

I didn't tell you to do it, but yes it could be done. Remember that this will become very dangerous if kids are around. and should only be done to help drain the washer. The only way to stop the washer is with the timer knob or the pulling the power cord out of the wall!!! Every sears tech has made a bypass switch made up from a broken lid switch.

My Frigidaire FWT645RHSO front load washer sounds like a propeller airplane when it spins...HELP!

Robin, it sounds like the tub bearings may be going out on your machine. With the washer empty, reach inside at the top and gently lift the inner stainless steel tub. Does it move up and feel like there is some slop or play in the tub. If the bearings are tight, the inner tub will not move much at all independently of the complete outer tub assembly.
Have you noticed any grease on any clothes recently? Usually what happens is the water seal fails and the water eventually washes the grease out of the bearings and they fail.
Depending on your skill level, there are some good online blogs about tub bearing replacement. You may not want to deal with it. You have to make the call on that. Thats my 2 cents worth. Good luck.

Kenmore Elite 10.4708 front load washer won't start with new load

Uh oh! It did it again! This time I had to unplug 6 times for one cycle. Seems to be on the last 2 minutes most of the time. Today my husband is taking the control unit and looking for soldering problems. On this man told of taking the bottom panel off and there is a little black latch thingy you pull to open the door lock manually. Also he said that the K2 and K4 relays are usually the problem if it isn't a soldering issue on the connectors. ( On the CCU);. He said one of them is usually burned and to clean it off and then switch it with the other one which carries less voltage, therefore doesn't burn. You can use a pencil eraser to do this. My husband told me they did this in the Army for MOose code contacts. He just told lme the soldeirng looks good on the connectors and is now working on the K2 and K4 relays. If you go to you will see these tips are for the Whirlpool Duet whic is apparently the same machine as our Sears Kenmore H4's. Gosh, I hope this helps someone as it sure is not fun trying to track this problem down. I am glad you got Sears to come out. I will NEVER and I repeat NEVER buy from Sears again! Did I mention I wrote a letter months ago when I was having a hard time getting warranty work done.( Which I never did) that I had written to the pPesident, CFO and the Texas Attorney General for Consulmer Protection Division and never got a response from anyone?
