Question about Saeco Odea Giro Plus Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Brew Group will not reset

I've had to remove the Brew Group for cleaning but it will not go back in. Both the Hopper and Descale lights flash indicating that it needs to be returned for service.
I can 'trick' the machine into lining up the spline so the brew Group will slot back in, but it will not 'reset' after switching off / on.

Can you help please?

Regards,
Neil

Hi Neil,

Try to put the dregsbox and driptray on place, close the door and turn on the machine.
When the machine stop again, open the door and put the brewing unit on place.

Best regards

Machine is not starting right - brew unit gets stuck and if removed in order to reset the alignment of the gearing wheel in the machine, it does not align in order to get the brew unit back in place.

When the upper and lower, dregs box and descale light, are flashing alternatively, this means that either the grinder or the brew group motor, sensors or switches are not responding to the CPU or pwr board. This will need to be brought to a Saeco Service center for repair. I would not attempt to repair without proper working knowledge of the cpu and pwr system.

What is the proper method to descale?

Yes, you should empty the bean hopper and put the solution in the tank and run it through.

Thw lights are flashing in an alternating style and I cannot get them to stop. I have cleaned and lubricated the brew group, turned the machine off, etc -- NOTHING is working

It wants you to descale..... look in the user manual for instructions how. When you have done it hold down the steam button for 10 secs to reset the descale warning lamp.

Saeco Odea Giro - alarm light continually slow flashing

I had the same problem. I filled everything up and closed it then took the hopper top and placed a small magnet that fit the circumference of the hopper sensor (I took one off of a refrigerator magnet and it fit down into the sensor) and it immediately went green. Hope it works for you.

Seaco Giro Quick Flashing Red Alarm

Bypass the door interlock with a magnet (the red light will go out when you have the magnet correctly placed above the group). Brew a cup and watch to see how the water is getting into the hopper. Once you know how it is getting into the hopper it should be relatively easy to determine how to fix it.

Hold the water button in for about 15 seconds.

Not making espreso all the time

Being that you just started using it I would not be concerned. You did the correct thing by cleaning the brew group. Check on your screen under total coffees. We usually recommend you change the brew group every 10,000 cups.

Make sure you descale the machine and you can try using the cafiza tablets to clean your brew groups internal passages.
