Question about LG LRE30451ST Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Ornery Oven I hope you can help with a mystery my LG electric Range (Model LRE30451ST) is presenting. I recently replaced 1 of the control panels (which I don't think I really needed to do) and it is still doing the same thing, which is, the 2 of the 3 back burners (middle warmer burner is fine) the left and right burners come on, but the touch pad (no matter where I press-on it or around it) won't let me control the ^ arrow up or the down arrow to control the temperature. It is as if the touch pad (for temp. contorl) for both burners are not registering even though the on/off portion of the pad does work. Yesterday, to no avail I tried to get both to do more than just display the 2 dashes, but 2 days prior we got them both to come on with out any problem-this was during and soon after we had the convection oven on. I turned the oven on to see if there was any correlation between the two yesteday and I couldn't get either burner to arrow up or down. I'm not sure that it is an intermitent problem at best. This has been going on since I replaced the control panel, which I and the service tech should have realized that if it came on at all it must not be the control panel. Must be something with the touch pad portion of the burners. What are your thoughts? Is this a common defect in the wiring maybe? My unit was manufactured in 2006- can anything be done about this 'issue'?

F-1 oven error keeps coming on. took ribbons out and cleaned them. still no luck.

Error code F1 means that an error with the keypad has occurred. Usually it happens due to loose ribbon cable on the keypad or the electronic control assembly itself going bad. To resolve this issue first, disconnect the power to unit and then gain access to the back of the clock assembly (Electronic Range Control/ERC). Now unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC, it would be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide and make sure that the cable is not broken and nothing is shorted on the keypad. After this is done insert the cable back and then plug the unit back to check. If the error is still there then the electronic control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

F-1 keeps coming up on the screen and I am unable to do anything with it. ???? help this all happened after I tried to change the clock?

F1 touch pad / ERC test This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

LG LRE30451SW range

The interior oven light in most ovens is a standard 40 watt appliance bulb. Often, to change the bulb, you first need to remove a shield or glass dome. If the bulb isn't burned out, the problem may be with the switch on the oven door frame. If the switch works poorly, intermittently, or not at all, you need to replace it.
